  1. The solicitors are called. Sydney Mitchell The exact terms they use are: In defaults of payment of that sum forthwith, we have instructions to commence court proceedings without further notice. Thats the bit that worries me. So you think i should just carry on ignoring them until or "if" they make a claim? How are court orders issued, just as i am at my university address and not at my home at the moment. Thankyou
  2. hey guys, a while back i went through a whole pile of poop with parkforce. Basically i was living at university halls and kepy recieving parking tickets for parking on the university parking. Due to the fact the signs were unreadable and not in the places i was parked i decided not to pay, i must have had 10-11 of these tickets and have not paid one. All of them get to the Rossendales stage and then give up. In any case that was that, i recieve the occasional letter now and again but nothing to worry about. This was Untill today when i recieved two letters from a soliciter company on behalf of parkforce. These letters say they are acting on behalf on parkforce and will continue with court proceedings unless i pay the(compramised) sum on £158 per ticket (this is x2). Now i have never really worried about these people and have done the best thing which is to just not contact them. But obviously i dont want to go to court and its a lot of hassel. Is this just another part of the [problem] or do you think they will really take me to court. they have not brought up any of the other parking charges, just these two ones. Any advice would be greatley appreciated. Ben
  3. hi all, still havnt engaged in conversaion with them, but got letters through the other day from a differnt collection agency saying they were going to send debt collectors round my house unless i paid up, is this legal that is threatening with unjust cause, they cant do that anyway i havnt had any summon to court!
  4. Hi, thanks for the quick replies everyone, firstly no i havnt instigated contact with them, and secondly i am the registered owner of the vehicle. As for going to see the law prof, that may be an option, but i would rather not involve the university just yet, i plan to make an official complaint to the principle. So shall i write them a letter, explaining that i do in fact have photographic evidence showing that they are not lawfull in there sign placement and ergo i am not required to pay them~? or shall i just completley ignore them!
  5. i am in the midst of a PCN argument which may end up in court, keep you posted.
  6. Hi people, its so nice to know that there is a consumer group as disgusted as i am by this "Intimidating" company. I am a student at Roehampton University in london, and as of januray have received not one but five of these tickets, stupid to park in the same place that many times i hear you say? But where our university is situated ,Next to the largest estate in Europe and may i say not safe for vehicle parking at all (with regular car break-ins and vandalism every day). Since the tickets were issued i have only received three claims for payment and this has advanced from the Initial Notice to driver letter to the CRS (Churchill Recovery Services), now i have three threatening letters from CRS demanding payment of 137.50 within seven days of Parkforce may apply to county court for a judgement against myself. SO this is how it stands at the moment, i am looking for some help in where to go next. Firstly I have photographic evidence (below) These pictures show the entrance to my halls of residence as approached from the universities side gate, there is a sign on a tree roughly 7ft up angled away from the entrance and completely invisible from a walking and driving perspective, in fact the only way to see this sign is to walk into the campus and walk around the reverse of the car park. I was under the thought that the sign had to be at the entrance to the car park, also where i was parking there is a barrier which is up, but once again no sign within the enclosed car park stating Parkforce, and the only sign saying anything of the sort is snapped in half and says NO P. The University is totally aware of the parking problem and is simply instigating in explotation and profiteering on the students behalf. Any advice on where to go from here would be greatly appreciated.
