  1. :|Mmmm, biggest mistake of my life eh, fab credit rating, never in debt, loved the credit card shmoozing, worked well for me every time! Then gave the dreaded family member my trust in loaning them on a business adventure to help them get on the ladder-even use of the said card balances-then left the country when it all went tits up!! Right numpty me:-xbut done it, let it happen, suffering now...for 37 years ffs! Think will elope n change my name lol........thanks all. (keep buying those lottery tickets eh!)
  2. Hi, reading all the post relating to these situations-it seems that if I CCA Moorcroft and find they don't have anything-then pass it back to the CC company- I will only be back to square one in negotiating a monthly payment etc etc and having to go through all that again!? At the mo all is sorted-payment wise, no hassle etc- just the thought of forever payment! will prob die before its all paid off! The only possible light at the end of the tunnel is if I get any money ever(winning the lottery!doh) is to negotiate to pay off at maybe half of what is owed??mmmm..or have total amnesia and not worry about the 37years lol! As for charges etc-I contacted all before I defaulted knowing full well all money/savings etc had ran out for the next payments..thanks.
  3. Hi all, got all debts sorted via CAB, no stress, no hassle, eventually. 1 with Moorcroft, 1 with Hillesden, 2 with the banks themselves. Been paying set amount for a few years now standing order. I am disabled so the situation will never change, just worked out how long it will take me to pay it all off-37 years! :jaw:Somehow in the back of my mind was hoping would find somewhere that there is a cut off amount of years for paying off debt....?Does anyone have any good news for me at all? Thanks in advance...
  4. Hi all, is there a time scale for claims? We tried to claim benefits for my husband in 2007 only to be told he hasn't paid enough NI contributions due to being self employed also he worked/lived in NZ in full time work for 10 years, we live from my Income capacity benefit & Industrial injuries benefit - it's just not enough! He is disabled himself with a knee injury(no cartilage left and wears a caliper) also has acute tinitus and is 50% deaf and will worsen! Is there any hope to be able to retry or claim anything at all please??? Thanks in advance.
  5. Hi old andrew, unsure of that comment?
  6. I had a recent problem with a bed. It was a spare bed in excellent nick, I checked it and packed it up for the buyer to pick up. Buyer arrived in a small car with 4 small kids!!hey, not my prob! but they did say that one of the kids had wrecked theirs so they needed it for that night!!it was stuffed in-with the kids on top!!A week later they asked for a refund saying it was broke!!!I politely refused, after a barage of email, they said they were going to report me!!!I immediately informed ebay myself, sending all the mail I had received and the circumstances, I have not heard anything since! Spose they looked at my honest feedback?! There are some unfair people out there which try to spoil everything eh!?
  7. If feedback has already been left, you can add on to it at a later date but it must be done tactfully as ebay may respond to the sellers complaints of this and remove it!
  8. Hi, have you reported this to ebay? they are very helpful in giving info of either what they can do or other means?? Was the sellers account verified?(this means they are who they say they are)Get the info first from ebay, keep all your correspondance, shame you didnt use paypal-you may have had a chance getting the dosh back as its your insurance! Good luck!
  9. Hi, i love ebay! I would say to you a few things.. check the feedback of the buyer always and do check they have had their account verified! This ensures the person is whom they say they are! I always tend to use paypal as your money is protected- I recently bought some boots which were not as described-I asked politely for a refund and sent them back-I never received the money!the seller closed the account!- I filed with ebay and they refunded me in full as I was protected by paypal! If you are not sure, request payment by cheque and ensure you put in the listing that the item will not be sent until the funds have cleared in your account! simple!! I would say though, ensure your listing is very honest & truthful about any flaws, marks, etc and do state all your terms and conditions such as- not return/item posted upon money clearing/not responsible for postal losses but will send out receipts for them to claim themselves/any problems please contact before negative feedback etc...good luck!!!
  10. hi, you seem to have done all you can really but you can watch out for this members other items that they are selling and if they have the same item on again stating the same info, you can report it to ebay straight away for item not as described etc, good luck! this is not on!!
  11. Hi all, hope this is the right place! A year on after my brothers tragic death, having dealt with as much as I can & getting grant of letters(no will)I am still fielding money issues. A man has tried to take me to court for money owing for a conservatory he built-just before my brothers death. I went to court to explain I am not the next of kin to inherit the estate and so it was dismissed, but the court informed him that he would have to find the right person first if he wanted to re apply. Since then, I have gone through banking/paperwork etc and found details of the conservatory in the form of planning, estimates etc and even lump sums of cash being taken out in stages (assume to pay man in stages?) to the sum of the claim. I believe my brother knew this man and so they worked out to pay cash for a cheaper job? There is no paperchase as in cheques or receipts or even invoices. Would a builder pay for such a large amount of work to be done himself and bill him at the end???I always thought its stage payments and a final payment? Anyway, the work never got totally finished, its extremely shabby and left as is now, but this builder has tried to claim again sending the court summons to my brothers partner! (not married) The small estate automatically goes to 4 daughters whom are minors, but they want to keep it. The summons was addressed to the partner with the wrong names and postcode-I suspect he hasnt again done his homework!! Is there anything I can do? Has he got rights? would there be a case? CAN ANYONE HELP PLEASE!!! many thanks.
  12. hi, the house is empty, he says to do what i wish to pay off debts. He will sign anything! Its in his sole name. Do I inform the utilities that he has gone? will they right off the bills to find him?(not my prob) What do i tell the poll tax people? thanks
  13. Hi all, my brother has abandoned all of his house, bills, debts, mortgage etc etc!!! he will not return. I dont know where he is, I get a call every now and then. He owes everything and things are building up, what do I do? Poll tax have given a court date, red bills and threats, mortgage near repo!!!! the sad thing is he owes a dear aunt £30k in the form of a loan which was supposed to come back out of the sale of the property, what can we do??? we cannot afford to pay anything being disabled!!! any ideas??thankyou in advance.
  14. ps. partner being -friend who was killed in an accident had partner and kids (from their previous relationships) for 17 months. thanks! (sorry for being so vague-worried!)
  15. Hi, thanks for the reply. Initially, we all have a very good relationship with the partner so, letters of administration was granted to myself and the partner on one document. We morally decided that things would be split fairly-knowing that next of kin was 2 minors. The minors wanted partner and kids to stay in the home until they have no need anymore. Now have discovered the solicitor appointed by accident insurers are working soley with the partner to gain full rights to owning the property and any money which may come through! The appointed solicitor will not speak to me. Is this legal? I have had no correspondence what so ever and am unable to find out whats going on! Partner is very vague....
  16. hi all, this is tough. since found out a solicitor has been appointed to deal with everything- but refuses to talk to us as says is working for his partner at the time!!! Friend lived with partner and kids (not his)and is still living there until things are sorted. Shouldnt this solicitor be working alongside the appointed? There is something fishy here and I dont know what to do!!!!I have contacted the mortgage company and requested all mail to be sent to me now but other accident claim monies is being dealt with by partner and this solicitor! I cannot afford my own solicitor, what on earth can I do!! Thanks.
  17. Hi, I have been appointed with letters of administration. Its quite a wierd situation really as I am trying to think very fairly. The mortgage was paid off with insurance but he had just got an extention on his mortgage-which wasn't insured!! Litterally a few months before he died, so the outstanding is owing but for such a small amount the payments are rediculous! Thanks for the help, will PM you with details.
  18. Hi all, great site! hope someone will be able to help! My dear friend died without a will. I have letters of administration now. His house is still mortgaged and i know it will go to his son who is a minor. Can I change the name to the child? or do I have to use my name as I am guardian? The mortgage was also very badly chosen, can I change it to another cheaper mortgage? (its been kept for the son to decide in the future what to do) meanwhile it will be rented out to pay for the mortgage. Many thanks in advance.
