  1. Meeting called for Friday at 10:00AM. I guess they want a full weeks work off me before they get rid.
  2. Well, no meeting has even been called yet and I am very eager to find out whats going on, as if I have no job, I need to find one. What can I do to hurry this along?
  3. OK. I will give you the short story. I have worked at my firm for the last 2 years and have a fantastic work record. I started having marital issues and me and my wife split back on September last year. I got a hell of a lot of grief and threats from her family but it all died down eventually. I met someone else and moved in with her in December (stupid I know, but love is blind). She turned out to be a complete psycho and we split up a couple of weeks ago. I was upset and had 3 days off work which was recorded as “Unauthorised Absence” and I was given a Stage 1 written warning. My ex called me and begged me to see her on Monday and she said she couldn’t be with me as she couldn’t have children and it broke her heart every time mine came to stay (I accepted this even though we had a pregnancy scare in January, wasn’t worth arguing over, I knew it was rubbish) I found out on Wednesday night that she was actually cheating on me for a week before we split, obviously not happy I texted her and told her I knew, lots was said, she eventually admitted it and I felt better. I came to work on Thursday morning and felt good, until my work phone rang. My ex girlfriend had been in touch with my ex wifes Aunty some how (and she takes it upon herself to get into everyones business) and told her I constantly cheated on my wife (I didn’t) and how I owed her thousands of pounds and all sorts of crap. Bottom line is she phoned me at work, gave me serious grief and threats and I snapped, at lunch I left work with the intention of selling everything and catching a plan the next day to get away from it all as it was no one elses business. Work kept phoning and texting as they were worried and I didn’t answer as I wasn’t in a great state of mind. I came to my senses when I realised I wouldn’t see my kids again and went back to my mum and dads house (they live in France). I spoke to work and my Manager told me to come in on Friday (today) but there will be repercussions of another Unauthorised Absence, that will be a level two warning at least. Turns out that in our Gross Misconduct policy, unauthorised absence is covered. Can they get me for this and skip the other warning stages? My state of mind was crap, I have been having loads of personal problems recently (which they know about) and have a lot on my plate. Do I have mitigating circumstances as I was being threatened and felt I had no other option? If I lose this job, over the last 6 months I will have lost absolutely everything in my life.
  4. Hi All, newbie here! Got a question. The company I work for pays us on the 23rd of every month, which this month happens to fall on a Monday. When I used to bank with Natwest, if my paydate was a Monday, then the funds would show in my available balance on the Saturday (even though, if I got a Mini Statement, it would still show Monday as the “official” day the salary is credited). My question is this. My salary now goes into my girlfriends Lloyds TSB Silver account. Is this still the same procedure? Will I get paid on the Saturday? I have spoken to 3 different people at Lloyds and all give a different story so I am looking for info from someone this has actually happened to! Apparently it has something to do with wages being processed on the day before your paydate and Sunday isn’t a working day. Looking forward to your replies.
  5. JonCris, as mentioned I havent advised anybody anything, or misled. This is becoming too time wasting.
  6. I said I CAN'T give and advice JonCris, stop being an arse.
  7. In all honesty, LBL knew that my solicitors were involved, they just sent out the letters t LBL stating that the loan was in dispute and so on. Nothing ever went to court, the chap coming round was completely out of the blue. Apart from telling you my story, I cant really give any advice as I dont really know why they did it. Speak to your solicitors on the matter and see what they recommend.
  8. Fleeced I understand everyones situation is different. They cant take my car, simple as, I have: No interest on HPI anymore Email from Paul Foster stating that the agreement is genuine The original offer letter. If they touch my car, it becomes a Criminal issue, not civil.
  9. Well it has ended there JonCris. Thats the bottom line.
  10. One other thing, by advice I am certainly NOT advising people what to do, I am explaining exactly whay happened to me. No advice here, just facts!
  11. JonCris, I used to have to face bullies like yourself in school, and overcome them so you words do not worry me or bother me. What I will tell you is, I have a right to put my opinions and experiences on this forum whenever I like, and as long as I do not breach any rules, there isnt a damned thing you can do to stop me. This isnt the first time you have jumped on someone on the forum for speaking their OWN opinion, as a grown adult (which I presume you are) you should listen to other peoples opinions and they do not have to justify them to you. The bottom line is, I settled and I am happy MY SITUATION! If other people want to, then thats their CHOICE! YOU are the one bullying people into taking this matter as far as it will go. One more thing, everytime I post a response is not necessary, I will not get into a "who has the last word" scenario with you, if you want it, be my guest and reply, but dont expect a response from me as I am bored of your whole argument now. One other thing, A BIG THANK YOU to the folks that HAVE PM'd me THANKING me for any advice I could give in my limited knowledge. Oh, in case anyone is interested, the HPi interest HAS been removed from my vehicle and I AM NOT liable for any legal fees.
  12. Look, I dont have any interest, this is getting ridiculous. My opinions are my opinions, simple as, and quite frankly I am getting bored of having to justify myself on here. As to offering advice, I CAN offer advice relating to MY situation, LBL as a company, I can not. There are also a couple of people on here and I will not name names who have taken my advice, and now have their debt written off. Suffice to say I DONT NEED TO WORRY ABOUT LBL ANYMORE. Let people make there own decisions.
  13. Jon Cris, I am not trying to frighten anyone, this constant "post tennis" we are playing serves no purpose. As you are an ex-solicitor I will give up trying to explain myself. Suffice to say. I did what was right for me, everyone else do what is right for you! Simple as. I will not respond to this thread again as I have been made out to be "scaremongerer". If ANYONE wants any advice, feel free to PM me and I will give you whatever impartial advice I can. Thanks
  14. Weeing contest? At the end of the day, people should do what is right for them, not everyone else. Thats all I am saying.
  15. I *WAS* a client of Stephensons on a pro-bono basis. hence my recieving regular letters, updates etc. As for settling, people will do what they want to do at the end of the day, be it settle or hold out for a better offer which is their perogative. If you really think that *everyone* is going to get a massive settlement, you are wrong. How much money do you think LBL has once it has cleared peoples Legal Fees and their own? You will probably find they will just liquidate themselves and not pay. Either way, IMHO all you will get at the end of the day is title to your car returned back to you, I just wanted that sooner rather than later. My decision, and respect to everyone else for doing what is best for them.
  16. Just for the record, I have signed nothing from Stephensons or any other solicitors that has any reference to retaining services, they never got round to sending it to me. It was all pro-bono unless documents had to be submitted to the court, in which case costs would then be apportioned. As to checking with Sols, it is hard to do at 7:30PM on a Friday evening. Sign or we will take your car now? Quite a simple decision and in my favour. As for Paul Foster, yes, I have been in contact with him and have emails stating that the offer is genuine and my account is closed.
  17. As for what you said about “strengthening LBL’s hand” while keeping it out of court, unfortunately I had to be selfish and think about myself as I have children and require a car. I wouldn’t feel particularly noble if I had to walk everywhere.
  18. As for what you said about “strengthening LBL’s hand” while keeping it out of court, unfortunately I had to be selfish and think about myself as I have children and require a car. I wouldn’t feel particularly noble if I had to walk everywhere.
  19. I know what your saying fleeced, but keeping my car was number one priority, they gave me an option, settle (which didn’t cost me a penny), or they will take my car, not much of a choice. Not overly concerned about making money on top or having payments back as I DID take out a loan. In my opinion attempts to challenge the agreement when not under threat are merely people jumping on the bandwagon and trying to avoid paying. I had paid my loan without a problem until a change of circumstances and they refused to help, that is when I sought legal help, primarily to keep my car. Everyones situation is different, and I sympathise for the folk that have been wronged by LBL. I also think they should be brought to task and regulated properly so that there interest rates aren’t so ludicrous, but at the end of the day, we all walked into taking a secured loan on a car with our eyes open. My case is over, and I wish everyone else luck who is having problems with LBL.
  20. I will help in any way I can, if you want to discuss it further PM me your number and I will give you a call. Cheers
  21. Sweetnsexy - You should of been on the pro-bono deal until court action began, otherwise, I think justification needs to be sought as to WHY some people are on pro-bono and some are not? I can't think it has anything to do with financial stature either, as at the end of the day, we all used LBL for a reason!
  22. Hi again! I completely agree. I had signed two lots of Legal Aid forms with said company, the first ones signed about 5 months ago were never actioned as when an injunction was mentioned I was asked to sign them again as the others were out of date. The way I see it, I havent signed anything to the effect that I accept any charges, and if there are any, then they knew about them and should've sent my leal aid forms in for authorisation months ago. They certainly will not get any of my money. Throughout this whole process, to be fair, I have gone it alone. I have had to take measures to ensure my car remains in my posession, all the solicitors have done in a nutshell is advise LBL that I will take them to court. As for the granting of legal aid not free you from cost liability - what a load of old twaddle, yes it does, that's why it is LEGAL AID, as long as it is only upto and not over the value on the certificate. For me, there has been a lot of scaremongering, but in all fairness when LB Collections popped round to see me, they were perfectly civil and no means threatening. Just my two penneth.
  23. oh, and as mentioned in my initial post. I did pay my Augusts payment in full, just the next one I cant!
  24. Have a problem. so far I have not been able to contact her? Sent numerous emails and lost her phone number! What shall I do now as rent day is only 20 days away?
  25. Hi sweet n sexy. Firstly, I wasnt bullied no, he did say that if the agreement wasnt signed that he had the right to take the car, which unfortunately is fact. I wouldve signed anyway! Stephensons as far as I was told (and is the case for everyone) are working pro-bono unless it comes to a point where injunctions are required, in which case they will need to be funded by Legal Aid, or the client directly. As no injunctions have been insitigated, whcih I think they *should* of been, I believe that the work so far is pro-bono, as I have not signed anything to say I owe any more or a balance has accrued on my account. Plus, in all fairness, if they did say I owe, I would tell them I dont as they havent done their job. The whole 9 months I have been with them, I have been given NO protection on my car?
