  1. Point taken! My situation is unique to me as everyones is to them, and we must all do what is best for us, for me it was to sign, and for others it is probably NOT to sign. Good group of people on here giving up their personal free time to help. hats off to you all.
  2. Look sweetnsexy, I'm not going to get into a semantic argument about this. So, again, at the end of the day I understand some peoples need to take this all the way due to costs and so on, but for me, you are right, no solicitors costs, so it works for me. My solicitor was pro-bono as never required any injunctions or anything to be filed in court, plus they couldnt initially find me as I just moved house and didnt even tell my bank so they couldnt track me. The finally tracked me as I applied for a new Logbook from DVLA with new address, thats how they found me.

  4. I dont understand why everyone is saying dont sign? I do actually want to put this to bed? I have signed and I am free of them, this is exactly what I wanted. I'm not bothered about getting the money I paid them back as I in complete consciousness DID take out a loan. Yes, they are cowboys and extremely unfair in their practices but I still took their money when I needed it. Matter closed and LBL are off my back! Yipee!

  6. don't really know how it happened, but I am chuffed to bits!
  7. I have it in writing. I have my copy. It's all over.
  8. They have written off the debt and surrendered title to the car if I promised to cancel legal proceedings.
  9. a chap from LB collections knocked on door at 8 o'clock saying he knows I am with astephensons. He gave me a letter from LBL to sign absolving me from tv debt and waiving their rights to ownership of the car if I cease my legal action! Happy days. Call me if you need info. {Edit} Phone number removed please do not post personal details on the open forum
  10. I am with stephensons but they came round tonight. Need advice asap tonight. EDIT .. personal details removed Jon
  11. Thats why I can build a file, cos no one will accept me? I can prove where I live and ID and stuff with documents!
  12. I keep getting declined, thats the problem!
  13. Don’t have any credit whatsoever as my bank doesn’t report to CRA’s apart from a Log book loan, which again isn’t reported to the CRA. Tried to open a new bank account and being declined left right and center for everything. Applied for the credit file from Experian and they have told me pretty much that I don’t have one and need to supply proof of ID! Anyone else had this? How can I not have one? Surely one will automatically be generated when I am accepted for some credit, or when searches are added? If I don’t have one, where are the searches logged? I am on the voters roll if it matters. Also, what will they do with my ID? Will they create a credit file?? Confused!!
  14. about £1700 all in. Phone was £270 (iPhone)
  15. Police been and gave crime number. They asked all the regular questions about locks and stuff, toldcthe truth, it is a new house and has all the features.
  16. Took dog out for walk tonight and forgot to lock a window. Got back and someone had got thru it took tv, xbox, phone laptop and unlocked my back door and left. Phoning insurers tomorrow morning, am I up poo creek or will they pay? Doesn't mention they won't pay for that in my policy booklet? How effing stupid, so peed off!
  17. Thanks for your comments. Just a couple of things though. The fact that he is on holiday is irrelevant really, and very easy info to find out. LBL are in touch with Stephensons regarding this case and they speak regularly, so when they call and ask for whoever and they are told such and such is on holiday they will know for themselves. As for pro-bono, my case isnt pro-bono. Cheers
  18. My solicitor at Stephensons is on holiday until next week. Not sure what to do if they did come round to my house, having said that, they dont know where I live and I havent registered ANYTHING with anyone! I plan on staying off the grid until the court case is over, and if I lose I would rather burn then car than let them have it and then make myself bankrupt so they cant claim money off me! Anyone know of timescales for this to go to court or chances of success?
  19. Hi! I certainly am a Stephensons groupie!!! Just waiting now till we have them by the balls! The only way they are taking my car is out of my cold, dead fingers!! I tried to be reasonable to start but they refused, so hardball time! Stephensons have done a great job for me so far, just hope they can get the injunction sorted so they cant take the car while I sleep! Oh, well, they dont know where I live so thats a start!
  20. I was told in an email update about my case. It's not Stephensons fault. I personally think they have realised they will lose and have decided to recoup as much money in the here and now as possible.
  21. Just thought I would let anyone know that is involved with Stephensons solicitors. LBL have gone back on their promise to "not" reposess cars of Stephensons clients until the Test Case has been resolved, therefore everyones car is now at risk.
  22. Logbook loans have been messing me about for a long time, they have hiked their payments up to an unmanageable level and are not interested that I was sick for a spell hence the arrears. They haven’t yet come for the car though. I *may* have the last laugh though, I am moving house in a fortnight and have no debts apart from this so I will technically disappear as I wont tell them where I live, just have my mail redirected. Just wondering what their next “move” will be? Do they report cars stolen or what? Thanks in advance.
  23. Just spoke to Royal Courts of Justice. It is now £40 to find out the Bill of Sale date!!! Think I will jsut pay the loan and keep the repayments.
  24. OK. So being blunt, what is the bottom line on how to keep my car? So far they have "accepted" a pay arrangement.
  25. and what if they havent lodged the BOS within the 7 days? I will find out as I am sending my £5 fee today to the Royal Courts of Justice. I will also call that chap this afternoon.
