  1. I would appreciate advice on contribution charges arrears. I am being pursued for arrears of almost 7k and at my wits end to know how to deal with same. The only "asset" I possess is my house. Naturally I do not want to lose the house but am wondering if there are ways and means to put in place a charging order for the arrears whilst continuing to pay the future monthly payments. Any advice would be very much appreciated.
  2. My husband has an outstanding credit card debt causing great concern. Unfortunately he is unable to deal with this, he suffers with dementia and in fact is now in permanent residence at a care home. Prior to his admittance there was an agreed monthly payment being made by standing order. nfortunately I had to cancel the standing order due to the fact that his care contribution took his state pension and part of his private pension. This contribution left a considerable hole in the household income which of course is ongoing. The latest communication sent to him states a reduced payment for the next six months, (minimum monthly payment) will avoid legal action and not be charged further costs, they already have added late payment costs which have increased the outstanding amount due. My question is can this debt be enforced seeing my husband's condition and not being able to deal with this issue. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.
  3. Thank you raydetinu, to my cost have realised the wisdom of your advice, never again will I buy on line. I will fire off some emails and hopefully have a good result.
  4. I would be grateful for any advice offered. This computer should surely be under guarantee and am anxious to get this on-going problem resolved.
  5. I purchased a Dell desktop on line in January and everything was fine until about a month ago. The power button failed so contacted Dell to report same (the computer has a collect and return contract) and informed it would take 14 days but could pay £29 and have an engineer come out next day. I agreed to this because I needed the computer urgently. This is where the 'fun' begins, their next day turned into a week before he appeared, and the power button was replaced. However after only just over a week the same thing happened again. Dell were informed and full of apologies promised an engineer the next day, but am still waiting. I am absolutely disgusted with the customer service (or lack of it) afforded by this company, and this coupled with the telephone experiences leave a lot to be desired. They use an 0844 high rate telephone number and you get to speak to some foreign person (who you cannot understand). diabolical I say. Any idea on my consumer rights, wondering if I should be offered a replacement.
  6. Many thanks ims21, will start the ball rolling
  7. My husband has a Credit Card with Lloyds TSB but I am not sure if PPI was added so am considering sending the SAR letter. However, the problem is he is not capable of dealing with this matter (he suffers with dementia) and am wondering if it would be possible for me to deal with it on his behalf.
  8. I have a secured loan with approximately 4 years to run. However I now find myself with the problem of maintaining the current monthly repayment due to a substantial reduction in income, caused by my husband going into permanent residential care which I have to partially fund. I will lose his state pension and part personal pension which will leave a gaping hole in finances. I am wondering if I can obtain a reduction in the existing monthly repayment which I realise will add further interest, but better that than facing re-possession. I would be most grateful for any assistance.
  9. Can anyone tell me what percentage of Council Tax a single occupant is liable for
  10. Very pleased to report I have no need to issue a Summons, lba letter obviously did the trick, money in my bank account today. Sincere thanks for help and advice given.
  11. Many thanks ims and citizen for your replies will take your advice and issue summins next week if no refund received
  12. Update on the present position. I sent a recorded delivery letter to Customer Services and a copy to CEO on Monday stating I will issue a Couny Court Summons if my refund is not paid within 7 days. Today I received letter from Customer Services apologising for the delay in the refund being completed and an additional interest payment being added to ensure the final refund amount reflects the date in which I will receive payment. However there is no mention of when this refund will take place, and no mention of my letter to them on 9 January, in fact this is the only correspondence I have received since their offer dated 16 September 2011. I conclude I am no further forward, and would appreciate advice
  13. Thanks ims, I have read the article on BCOBS and am sure some of the provisions are applicable, will start my research and get the ball rolling
  14. I have come to the conclusion that Lloyds will need a sharp nudge before they pay up and have decided to issue a County Court Summons. I presume this will be issued to their Registered Office , Gresham Street, London and would appreciate confirmation that this is the address to use ?
  15. I am still waiting patiiently (not) for Lloyds TSB to pay me what is rightly mine. Sixteen weeks have now past since receiving their calculation letter on a paid up loan, this is no joke. Unbelieveable it can take so long for a payment to be made when all they have to do is hand over the cash. I have sent numerous emails and letters (one even by recorded delivery) but they have not even had the courtesy to acknowledge any, I am just about at the end of my tether.
  16. Still no movement by Lloyds TSB. i wonder if a County Court claim would be adviseable, might move them into action. Blackbelt
  17. Agree ims the accruing 8% interest is great (for me and the taxman), if and when I am paid, but at this precise moment I am looking for ways to shivvy Lloyds TSB into action. Blackbelt
  18. Would appreciate any advice on getting Lloyds to hand over refunds which are well and truly overdue. I started my claim in April, had letter upholding just within the 16 week deadline. Heard nothing further until their letter dated 16 September showing amount with interest calculated until 5 October. Ten weeks have now gone by and I am still no nearer seeing my money. I have written letters, sent emails all to no avail, don't even get an acknowledgment. I have refrained from telephoning after reading reports of long delays in answering I just find this all so unreal and fail to understand how the bank can justify the delays in handing over money due to their customers. Afraid it does not bode well for good customer relations.
  19. Thank you for your respionse, will write them and hopefully wake them up.
  20. Wondering if anyone experiencing delay in paying out by Lloyds when they have upheld complaint and given acceptable refund offer. They just met the 16 week FOS deadline in August, stating my complaint had been upheld, I heard nothing further until September (a month later) giving me an acceptable figure, but here I am yet another month later with no sign of payment. Any suggestions on whom to contact to get them moving on handing over the money, they sure appear to be very reluctant to let go of it.
  21. So will just answer their last letter stating the fos is now dealing with the matter. Many thanks dx will up-date the post with next move, seems I am in for a long wait though considering the time it took for yours to conclude.
  22. Hi, I sent a lba letter attaching the spreadsheet on 1 June. It was sent to the Escalations team with whom I was corresponding and their reply stated their Final Response letter sent on 11 May (which was to pay May instalment and account would be settled, providing I returned their 'acceptance' form) No mention of my claim for refund of the charges. I replied by saying was disappointed they were unable to consider further and advised them I had referred matter to the FOS, and also stated "I considered the account in dispute and will suspend any further payments"
  23. Thanks dx, apologies for late reply. I know advice is not to speak on phone, however after listening to them requested written confirmation of conversation which they did. Yesterday I received another letter from them stating unless Thanks dx, apologies for late response, have been away from home. I know advice is not to speak to them on phone, however did request written confirmation which they did. Yesterday I received another letter stating that as I had not returned the direct debit, payment of £1,383.64 is required within 7 days to clear arrears. Of course they are aware of my complaint to the FOS but it seems this does not deter them, what would you suggest my response should be ? Many thanks
