Surely if I pay that means I accept the debt? I can't even remember this account, and if it was it could have been in thr 1990's. So do I just base the defence that I do not aknowledge the debt and they can't prove it?

I filled out the Acknowledgment of Service form online, so this gives me extra time to fill out a case now I guess.

To be honest I don't even know what this debt is for, I have never had anything mail order since before 2000. I've been at this address for 2 years and this is the 1st contact. Another point when I apply for credit I use my full name, and the letters I've been sent just have my 1st and last name :S

So if I go online and click Acknowledgment of Service form, I get 28 days to put a case together? This is on the moneyclaim website.

Is this Bryan Carter a real person? Isn't the formed supposed to be signed by a real person?

Today I received a letter from Bryan Carter the will start claim procedures within 48 hours, 2 days after the court claim! I'm sending a CPR request today to Bryan Carter, Special delivery to the the address on the claim form. My only question do I need to contact the court, and what do I tell them?

Hello, I'm in the same boat, same company and more or less the same amount involved. To be honest I can't even remember even having this littlewoods account, and if I did it would have been pre 2000. The letters I get don't even have my middle name on them, when I apply for credit I always use my full name as that's what is on the deed poll. I'll follow the advice given here, and let you know what happens.

Hello, Had contact from MH in January. Ignored them, think it's for a really old debt from 1997. However a company called J2 solutions called my home and my 90 year old neigthbour asking if I lived here, where I work and my mobile number. I called up when I got back from work at 6 ,the quoted a 6 figure extension number, hmmmm Im guessing more like an account number. They were closed at 6 oclock, so left a message quoting this extension number, my address and my name, and said all contact should bein writing only. My only question, because if this call, would you class this as a "bite"? Will they still pound me with letters and phone calls? I only called up as the called my 90 year old neighbour out of the blue, why should anyone else be involved? Keep up the good work Jamie

Hello all, Got a letter today with an offer of £56.00, no idea how they come up with this offer, I think it is the cost of the 1st 2 bank charges I had? The letter said they called me, but I have no record of any call. £56 os pants, like to say thanks but no thanks is it best to do with another letter, or a phone call? OK 14 days are now up, nothing I sent my DPA to my local branch, however I sent my 1st letter to head office, wonder if that has anything to do with it? Anyway printing out my LBA to go 1st class in the morning.

Yay got a letter from HQ saying they were dealing with my request and statements would be here by 30th May. They are arrived today all 150 pages, if Sting is reading, I'm sorry, it's the banks fault we are killing so many trees Totted it all up to £487, I thought it would be about £500 so I was kinda close, the intrest would add another £120, if it has to go further. So here goes fingers crossed, the rollercoaster ride is about the begin :S JB

Been an Halifax customer since 1999, I guessing I must have been robbed of close to a grand. With instant clerance now availble, what do these guys do, add 2 more days to their cheque clearance, is it now 10 days? Thanks to this greedness, this have given them the perfect excuse to milk more charges I wanna do this the right way, I have my letter ready to be sent but where is the best place to send it to, head office or my local branch? I'll send it recorded delivery on Monday, and I'll do my best to keep you upto date. Now this charge racket has hit the fan, it don't expect in instant payment
