  2. Recived a full offer from D&G last week, returned the settlement letter to them attached to a letter requesting cheque only. Recive a letter today informing me the agreed sum will be credited in the next 7 days. I've tried this morning to ring them but there is no-one answering the phone straight to voice mail. Has anyone else who has recived a cheque, got this response letter?
  3. Faxed them the list of charges, might also send it recorded tommorrow then I can be 100% sure they have a copy and won't try the delaying trick for an extra couple of days. The wait is getting to me now Anyone else filed around the same date as me heard anything yet?
  4. Hi, I'm interested in working out the probable timescales for my claim. Money Claim ISSUED: 29 Sep HSBC Acknowledged : 3 Oct By my workings that gives them untill 2nd November to Submit Defence or I can get a judgment. But my question is did anyone else file around these dates and if so where are you at? Or is there any tips for speeding the process up? Thanks!
  5. Update: The Halifax thinks I'm imagining charges, it seems two are not on there list of charges! I even have the printed statments they sent me . Awaiting them to get back to me when they have had a chance to look at it.
  6. Hi. I personally would not bother giving them an extra 7 days. Its very unlikely from mine and other cases on here they will even bother to respond in this time let alone settle. You set the timetable in your LBA and they choose not to refund so ignore them and get on with the claim.
  7. UPDATE: Nearly there! Reply from Halifax today. Offering to settle the claim for the full amount sort of. Original Claim: £391.83 charges and interest. 8% Interest (court) £51.48 Total : £443.31 (£493.31 inc court fee) There version: £330 charges £66.05 approximate interest that Halifax has calculated on your account as result of charges No mention on Court 8% interest so guessing its the £66.05 one (which is larger for a lesser claim!) Total : £396.05 (£446.05 inc court fee) They claim in the letter a statment detailing which charges is included in the letter, suprise suprise its not included and have called them they will send on Monday. From the looks of it it would appear that 2 £30 charges are being disputed, and the £1.83 in intrest they charged is not being paid(fair enough) But I can't work out how they get a greater amount of intrest then me for a lesser claim. Will double check my statments but I'm confident that I got it right first time. One thing is the balance of my account when they closed it was -£84.85 (all charges they added) I never paid this and they never hassled me about it. But the last charges were not £30 ones so its not them they have removed.
  8. Thats a pretty good deal for a change. Most people are offered something stupid at this early stage (mine was £30 from a £400 claim) However I would keep going for the full amount and if it ever gets as far as court then you can then claim the 8% intrest.
  9. I'm still waiting mine was acknowleged on 30th June. They have untill Monday 31st to defend or payup before I can get a judgemnet by default I think. But Mechs was settled 2 days ago and my claim was acknowleged 2 days after his so today could be my payday.
  10. CONGRATS! Based on this timescale my payday could be 2 days away, (they acknowledged my claim on the 30th June)
  11. 30/06/2006 Acknowledged To me that seems very quick to ackowlege this case, is this normal ?
  12. Finaly found the time to submit claim. Claim ref: 6QZ42097 Date 28/06/2006 Now just waiting for payday.

  14. Can someone glance at this letter to see if its over the top or not: Dear Lindsay O Donnel, Thank you for your AUTOMATED letter dated the 8th June 2006, you appear to have sent an incorrect automated letter as your threat for closing my account in future is incorrect as it is already closed. Firstly I would like to accept your offer of £30 as a partial settlement of my claim but I will continue to pursue Halifax for the full amount, please send a cheque to the above address payable to Mr X. Please also note the deadline for a positive response to my Letter Before Action is the 20th June 2006 if I do not receive the total amount (£391.83) before this deadline I will be starting court proceedings with no further warnings. Yours sincerely,
  15. Offer arrived in the post today. £30 offer from a £390 claim. The funniest thing is the letter seems to think my account is still open as they refer to checking ministatments and that future charges would stand. Will be sending them a letter accepting the £30 but not as final settlement and also informing them of there inability to write relevant letters.
  16. 25th May 2006. Automatic letter recived, We're keen to deal with your concerns yada yada. you will receive a reply shortly, but certainly no later then 4 weeks. Printed / Signed Cheryl Brash. Next step is LBA, I hope this goes to the claim stage so I get the extra intrest.
