  1. Hope this is the correct forum to post in so here goes... When I was working/living at a hotel back in 2003 I had an Orange mobile contract. £15 per month unlimited surfing net. Salesman from independant phone shop said unlimited surfing net etc. Methinks great. 1st bill arrives. £145 !!! I phone Orange they say I went over data limit unfair usage. I argue unlimited should mean unlimited false advertising etc. I go back to shop. Its shut down. Grr !!! I tell Orange to stuff it I'm only paying £15. I move away up north in 2004 So I didn't give Orange my fowarding address. Never paid Orange anything. Fast foward to 2007 and I'm back living with my parents and we start to get automated messages for Mr P. Nutty. ( my dad and I have the same initials BTW i.e. P Nutty ) Dad puts phone down thinking its a cold selling. This goes on for a few weeks 3 4 5 times a day up until 10pm sometimes. One day I pick up phone and just let it go through its message etc. In the the end it's Arrow . So I go through security checks etc. Its my debt from 2003. After all the arguing on the phone etc I agree to pay £10 per month. This goes on but they keep bothering me so I reduce it to £5 per month. Then Transcom take over debt they want to increase payment but i threaten to reduce it to £1 per month. so im still paying £5 per month. I have Transcoms bank details so I use that to pay into the bank with. I dont have a credit/debit card. Now when they phone it turns out to be Newman and Co. ? I ask if they have taken over the debt. They just say we are Newman & Co when can you pay etc can you pay it all now etc Apparantly when Transcom phoned once they said I had signed a contract to them saying I would pay by the 3rd of each month. I asked if they would send me a copy of this phantom contract. They got very agressive with me so I never signed anything to anyone. Now its just getting annoying. The debt stands at £236.33. Im quite happy to pay it off cos it is my debt in the end. The question is will they try to bleed more out of me when the debt gets down to £0.00 ? I have every single transaction slip form the bank to say that I have paid it. Also I have all the correspondance from Arrow, Transcom and Copes Solicitors, nothing from Newman & Co yet. Im on benefits and Im the carer for my partner. Should I reduce the payments to just £1 per month for the next 200+ months ? or just continue paying £5 per month. Or is there a way I can tell them to go away ?
