Man City have just bought Raheem Sterling for just under £50m, but when you add on the various agents fees etc, it will be well over this figure. I could understand it, if a top player with years of proven talent was involved, but this was for a player who shows signs of promise. Premiership football has become a plaything of the mega wealthy in the world and the amount of money spent does not seem to matter to them. I thought that there were fairplay rules, where clubs were only able to spend in line with the clubs earnings. The smaller clubs in the Premiership stand no chance in competing, unless they manage to get hold of young talent to sell onto the wealthier clubs. This is where QPR got it wrong, buying older players on high wages, with not much chance of any sell on revenues. QPR have now changed strategy and are now buying younger players, while retaining some more experienced players.
