  1. Hi Chrissy, Sent my LBA today recorded delivery, you may be a couple of days ahead of me now.. Hope to hear something within a aweek or so.. The drink or six sounds a good idea, but i may be to far away for that to happen, but hey ho, lets make sure we beat the Yorkshire bankers first, then it will be party time....... Regards ..........Swag Bag.
  2. Wow Chrissy, We are neck and neck at the moment, this morning i also received the same fob off as you , acompanied by a ` complaints precedure letter ` I shall hang fire for a couple of days and read up on some more threads before i send LBA letter, which i think must be the thing to do.... .........................Swag Bag
  3. I would imagine the telephone number is on the last correspondence you received, that`s where i would try first....
  4. Hi nicholag, It took Yorkshire bank 38 days to respond to my first request, i think maybe a phone call chasing them would be the next step for you. If you do speak to them make it clear to them that their `40 days to reply with your statements ` has exspired. Also...Did they acknowledge your DATA PROTESTION ACT REQUEST.. I`m just a couple steps ahead of you at the moment ( regards reclaiming unfair charges )... Take a look at my thread you may gleam some infomation off that. Hope i`ve helped.........Regards Swag Bag...
  5. Yes, i was thinking the same as moss.....it looks as though you`ve added 8% to £4474.19... My interest comes out to roughly the same as yours and i`m only claiming £1350... but of course we don`t add that on untill later in the claim so you have plenty of time to take a look at it... .....Regards Swag Bag. ps... I`m sending mine to :- Charges Section Third floor Brunswick House Wade Lane Leeds LS2 8NQ This address was on the last correspondence i received from them.. ( sending by registered post )
  6. Thanks moss, you`ve put my mind at ease..... Shall post letter tomorrow.. Cheers Swag Bag..
  7. Hi Chrissy, Just waiting for someone to reply to my thread ( make sure i`m going about it correctly ).. I think i am. Have only used the MSE calculator as i can not get any others to open. Shall wait till Friday to post my letter, gives people a couple of days to reply to my post.. Regards your claim, when your 8% is added on, that will take you way over the £5000 limit. Don`t know how you will approach that ( but i guess you`ve already thought of that.. ) Regards.......Swag Bag..
  8. Hi Chrissy, I couldn`t get the ones on here to work but had a scout around and found the one below, it does calculate the 8% but doesn`t add the days since. Must go am in a rush.... Bank charges: Reclaim them, they're unlawful, so you can get six years money back | MoneySavingExpert: Consumer Revenge, Credit Cards, Shopping, Bank Charges, Cheap Flights and more Regards Swag Bag.........

I would hate to make a mistake and cock it up:o Thanks.....Swag Bag....
  10. Hello everyone, Yes Chrissy my statements thundered there way onto to the door mat Saturday morning... A question for the more expereanced amongst us...... My charges tot upto to just over £1350, this is made up from the following 1). Charges 2). Debit interest 3). Unauthorised O/D 4). Un paid D/D Am i right in thinking that all four of these charges can be claimed back ? Just to clarify if you would, my next move is to send the prelim letter .....along with a schedule of the charges, in the form of a spread sheet minus the 8%. They then have 14 days to reply before the next stage begins ? Have i got this correct or missed any thing out..... ..........................Thanks for any help.....Swag Bag....
  11. Hi Chrissy, Recieved nothing as yet, hoping the next few days will see my statements arrive as Yorkshire bank seem to drag it out the whole 40, shall keep you posted..... Hows the adding up of the charges going along,i s it easy to sort out ? Are you claiming back more than you thought.?..... ................Good luck ...Swag
  12. Hi Chrissy, I tried to post the same question the other day, but my account had been frozen because someone had tried to hack into my account I`m coming up to around the 35th day without receiving my statements, but did get a reply acknowledging my request for them after a few days. I am also wondering what happens if the 40 day limit is passed, does this go in our favour in the latter stages of our claim ?....or if it drops on the mat after 45 days or so, does it not make any differance and we just carry on to the next stage.. Just wondering if anyone could clarify this for us....Thanks ......Swag Bag.
  13. Hi caro, Thanks for replying to my question.. The account i have was opened when i was about seventeen to have my wage paid into ( 25 years ago )...A few years later when i bought a house i had my direct debits took out and have always been charged a fee for this.... I remember querying this once a long time ago, but was told by a young lady behind the counter that this was right....so i`ve always thought that this must be correct....and have carried on paying this for what must be over 20 years.. ( This is not a business account at all ). I`ve always thought that every boby must be charged this who had an account with the Yorkshire bank. Can i reclaim these charges ? Thanks......Swag Bag.. PS ...With having this account so long...I have no Terms and conditions..
  14. Hiya guys.. I`m just waiting for my statements to come through, so i will be able to tot up my totals soon.. In the current account that i have, ( the one where all my direct debits come out of ) i do know that i have been charged about 69p per direct debit this has gone on for years. Is this the kind of charge that can be claimed back or are they acceptable ? Because of this every three months i`m charged around £50. For the first time ever ( for some reason ) when i got my charges letter the other week the total `charges` worked out at 69p ONLY. . The way that i`ve` handled my account hasn`t changed one bit ( puzzled look ) Just wondering if anyone else is claiming such charges ? Thanks........Regards....Swag Bag.
  15. Thanks Michael , For your swift reply and for those links provided, i will swot up on them shortly...... ................Cheers Swag Bag
  16. Hi Chrissy... I have received a reply from my first letter `Data Subject Access Request`....Only took four days to get a reply.. It`s just an acknowledgement really ( courtesy letter ), haven`t received statements or anything yet.... See my thread, i`ve detailed what it said, yours when received should be the same..... . ..........Good luck.....Swag Bag..
  17. Hiya all, Has been four days since i handed in my `Data Subject Access Request ` letter to my local branch, asking for statements for the last six years. Hey presto, this morning their first correspondence has just arrived from :- Advice Quality unit-Charges Section ( Leeds ) ....Must be head office ? (1) Letter......basically confirms they ARE able to provide me with requested statements. (2) That they have noted my sending of the £10 fee.... (3) They out line that they have 40 days which to provide the statements within the terms of the act, but will forward information as soon as possible. ...and i think i`ve received the standard reply regarding the request for information refering to manual intervention.....this being :-... (4) " with regards to your request for information relating to manual intervention on your account, there is no specific mention of manual intervention witin the Data Protection Act and as such we are under no statuary obligation to record or provide this information. " A fairly standard letter i believe but very swift... So do i now wait until the statements drop through the post, tally up the charges then send the total back in a PRELIM LETTER ? Also when my prelim letter is sent, should i address it to my local branch or from where i received my last reply `Advice Quality Services-Charges Section ` Leeds. ....Thanks in advance.......Swag Bag...
  18. Hiya.. Of course i don`t mind Chrissy posting on this thread ( no problem ). Anyone who can give advice, and i`m sure i`ll need it later on are more than wellcome.. Hi pjdudley ............Regards......Swag Bag
  19. Hiya Moss, Thanks for the wellcome... Hiya Chrissy.... Looks like we both set off at the same time, `regarding claiming excessive charges back .` It will be interesting to see how we progress. I can only guess at what charges have been aplied to my account but would guess that i`m chasing about half the amount that you are. I can`t see much happening for a few weeks but you never no. After all they have almost six weeks in which to respond. Hope you sent them a £10 cheque to cover the costs of your `list of transactions `. From some of the other threads i`ve read, the Yorkshire bank arn`t the easiest to deal with and will stall over the slightest thing... I visit this site daily now so will keep you up to speed should any progress be made................Regards...... Swag Bag
  20. Hello guys, Today i handed in my first letter (Data Protection Act 1998 Subject Access Request ) to Yorkshire bank asking them for a complete list of transactions and charges for the previous six years.. Along with it i sent a cheque for £10 so as not to hold proceedings up. I believe i now give them 40 calender days to return a list of charges aplied to my account in that period of time. Attatched to my letter and envelope was a consumer action group label, just to show them i mean business. When i win this battle i WILL be making a donation to this site, because i wouldn`t have known where to start without all the information available on here.. Having said that i`m sure i will need help on the way when Yorkshire bank start putting obsticles in front of me..... Shall speak again when i get a reply from them ......Swag Bag
