  1. Hi folks, Update : After send off my initial letter for refund, I recieved a response basically stating that the charges were indeed FAIR:confused: and will stand therefore I have since sent off my letter before action (stage3) and received a reply on the 10 Jan, this said .... _______________________________ "In view of your further comments, we have asked for a full briefing from those involved. Once this is recieved, a formal response will be sent to you. Thankyou for your patience and if you do have any queries in the meantime, please feel free to contact us." _______________________________ So..... this seems a bit of an odd letter, i.e. They have not told me where to go, and I am now waiting to hear what they come back with next.... I'll update you with any news when I have it. cheers, Andysb
  2. Thanks people!.. it really does make you feel more positive with the support of others. So I'm now 15 minutes away from walking to the PO with my stage 2 letter and schedule of charges for the period of 08/12/2000 -> 08/12/2006. T4FF has been of great assistance to me so hopefully I can do the same for someone else. Lastly, I really do wish I could be a fly on the wall when the first recipient @ RBOS opens my envelope. What will be the reaction? , and secondly what will then happen to my claim from then on .... time will tell and I will share with everyone what response I recieve. Best regards, asb p.s. Sorry got slightly carried away with the smilies towards the end of that message
  3. Hi folks, Thought I would begin a thread to share my experience so far with my claim against the Royal Bank of Scotland. I'm at the stage where I now have my statements delivered. They were actually delivered 5 days after I sent my 'stage 1' letter and so far they have not cashed the £10 cheque. Maybe they will wait and cash this when I'm £9 away from my o/d limit! ;-) Anyway, now being in possesion of my statements going back 6 years I'm now trawling through and creating a spreadsheet outlining all my charges to date. Most of the charges are obvious although some just have chg *****. For these charges I am deducting my normal account fee (currently £15 for royalties premier) and reclaming the remainder. As I progress through I will continue to share my experience and hopefully I can call about fellow claimers for advice when needed. One forum participant 'T4FF' has been extremely helpful so far so my thanks goes to him. I feel a lot more confident and sure about what I'm doing just by talking to someone who has been through the same process. The most important thing I probably have learned so far is to be thorough with every aspect of the claim so that the bank cannot dispute the claim based on an oversight by myself. If I can be of help to anyone I will do my best to help. Andysb
