I just received a letter from monument this morning offering me half of the money they owe. I have read on this forum that some companies do that and that we shouldn't accept it as ful repayment, but part. I intend to reply and accept as part payment and will be looking for the letter to send that is in this forum. I suggest you do the same.

Yes, it was all included in my letter requesting my charges to be returned to me. Its pretty much the same as the letter listed as it has info from the OFT etc. I requested infromation from my bank regarding my charges over the past six years. They replied and I copied them out into my letter and sent it off. This was when they replied to say that they did not agree with the OFT and were still in negotiations with them.

Yes, I have another account. However my Working Tax Credits are still being paid into my Lloyds TSB account despite my phoning several times to change my account details. This forum is so huge, its just confusing trying to figure out which to read first and what to do next.

I'm finding this all overwhelming and don't know what to do next. I sent off my letter to Lloyds TSB and they replied and told me they don't agree with the OFT and are in negotiations etc. I don't know what to do next. I've seen there is a lot of different things to do and it all seems very confusing. They agreed to not add charges anymore as I am having financial issues and going through the CAB, yet a charge of £60 has been added to my account, taking it over my overdraft limit and I expect another charge to be added for this.

I gotcopies of my bank statements and sent of the letter to request my charges back. Got a reply this week from them. They said they did not agree with what the law states and refuse to give me my money back. What do I do now?

Just found this forum and hopefully I will find something to help me with my money issues. How it started - I was working full time until september. I went part time (16 hours) and informed the Working Tax Credits. They messed up and admitted they have. I have not had my payments and they are talking about reclaiming money from me that I do not owe. Because of this, there is no money in my account, so my DD and SO were returned. I was too busy at the CAB trying to sort out my WTC, that I forgot ot cancel the DD and SO. I have been charged £35 for each DD and then another £30 for being over my OD. THen they have done the same this month. I have spoken to several people in the bank and the only one who was helpful was the lady I saw today. She told me about this thing, where you complain and get money back. But she wouldn't tell me anymore, as she works for the bank. She said she was disgusted and if it was her she wouldn't charge people this, but she has no control etc etc. Doesn't really help me, since my wages went into my bank last month and went towards the OD and I ended up with £30 to last the month. So, I have used my OD and was up to my limit and they add more charges on, so I am over my OD again and got another £30 charge. So I can't pay any bills, rent council tax and getting threatening letters from them and everything is an absolute mess. I am hoping to find out how to go about claiming this money back and will go look at FAQ. Tonya
