  1. hmmm... Looks like it is all above board T'was for a bed. 0% APR. Form states when they start, how much and how many. I do suspect that there was maybe a tiny amount still outstanding and that the rest is charges.... What now!! Thanks OoaK
  2. Hi OoaK - how are you? Unfortunately i cannot get the agreement on here but i think it is legit - funnily enough i found the original this week and i wasn't even looking fo rit so i'll compare the 2 tonight to make sure nothing has been fiddled. The signature is legit cos it's my old one (before i got married), what else should i be checking for...? No there was no SoA K
  3. Ok folks, update for you and plea for help too please! I got a copy of my orginal agreement back today and a letter basically saying ok you've got it now ring us and pay up!! I only sent the letter requesting the CCA and no the version which says they must provide proof that it isn't paid. Shall i send them a letter to this effect or..... What are my options? TIA KTE
  4. Thanks again Ell-enn! i will most def. ne in touch w Mr. M!! I've just realised i don't have the IJ ref on me and was hoping to get my CCA sent in tonight post Good job i live opposite my village PO K x
  5. Yes, they're still in cahoots!!! Thanks for the address tho and E-mail will def. send my complaint to this chappy!! Can anyone tell me though; i am jsut doing a CCA to IJ but what to i put in for the 'OC'? is this Sky? In summary, I DO NOT ACKNOWLEDGE THIS DEBT AND THEREFORE REQUIRE YOU TO SUBSTANTIATE THIS BY PROVIDING THE FOLLOWING DOCUMENTATION BEFORE I CORRESPOND FURTHER : 1. - True copy of original credit agreement 2. - Statement of account 3. - Copy of the executed deed of assignment from (Name of OC) and (Name of DCA) 4. - Fair Processing Notice. Thanks Powelll - i haven't yet logged the complaint - i'll be doing this at the weekend - i'll keep you posted!!
  6. Hi there we had a call from Sky a few weeks ago saying we needed to pay to have our Sky put back on and then during the conversation the girl noticed we had had major issues when we had the Sky installed this time last year and that i should write and complain and that we should say this is why we missed 3 months. We now have a letter from Intrum Justitia saying they are going to call round to collect the debt. if i (finally) put my complaint in writing can i ask/expect them to take the debt back in-house as it is disputed...? Thanks in advance. KTE
  7. Done!!! Wanna shake on it I'm now feeling confident and about to tackle UKDR with a CCA as i'm adamant i paid this debt, but the little upstart on the phone says it only takes one call to your bank to find out what payments were made ref the debt and he knows cos he 'used to work in a bank'!?!?! which probably explains his attitude!! What said little upstart doesn't realise is I work full-time and have two new businesses between us which sadly doesn't leave many hours in the day, add this to 3 house moves since the 'debt' and the acquisition of aforementioned hub and a flat full of his clobber and the fact i could've made payments on at least one of 4 different credit cards doesn't make this a one-call-project!!! Plus we're working out Hubbys prelim letter and charges for the Halifax too Oh and then there's the PPI claim against Welcome - grrr bring it all on [puts on mean face and rolls up sleeves]!! I'll keep you posted K x
  8. They wanted 3 x £233 (over 3 months with the 1st due 'ideally' in 30 days). If we had that we could actually clear about 3 of our old debts!?!? When Hubby saw it like that he more or less switched off instantly We fell in to the 1st band for charges - i cannot remember what he calculated the total figure at but i was going to take a look and see if i can work out what percent they do it at... To be fair the guy said he would still E-mail all the figures to us for our info (income & expenditure etc) i can;t check these til i get home later but i'll let you know... K
  9. Hi Guys, Thanks for all you help so far, i just wanted to update you all on how it went last night. Well, Both i and the chappy from Spectrum both knew within about 10 mins that neither party was going to gain from this meeting but to be fair he plodded on and went through the motions. Hubby took until the presentation of the breakdown of charges for their services We didn't get the hard sell at all and he was actually quite pleasant and fairly helpful despite the fact he knew we weren't takers. I did chuckle when he mentioned the 'legal route' and i announced that i wouldn't enter into an IVA anyway, to which his reaction was as if i had just annouced i had 'done the deed' with his dog [ROFL] If anything, what we did gain from the experience was confirmation that using the templates on this site (& your help ) to approach creditors that we can tackle it ourselves for now and that it's not actually as bad as we thought. Thanks again for those who posted K x
  10. Thanks Patrickq1 - good info - hmm, 17.62% of repayable blah blah... isn't this what CCCS do for free - wish i'd cancelled the appt now but hubby still wants to take a look.... I must admit i did 'google' them quickly but only really found their website May have to slam my 'signing' hand in the kitchen draw and render it useless
  11. Hi DJDave! i am aware they do IVA's and am also aware of IVA's and how they work (to a degree) and this is NOT an option we want to take either. it does say on their site they offer debt management AND IVA's so i must admit to being curious to know what they can offer without it being either a loan or an IVA - Don't worry i absolutely NO intention of signing ANYTHING today without Hub & i having time to discuss it in private and also taking a look at our other options (CCCS?) Am sneaking on here at work so no time to post all our info at the mo but will try to at a later date. THank you all for advising us to go carefully - we will!! PS DJDave - i see you tackled and beat Ashbourne ref Gym Membership - i may have to catch you on this one, another case of Hub being sucked in by Sales speil along with basically being cajoled into signing
  12. Thanks Guys - i must say i am sceptical but Hubby has a tendency to get sucked in to sales spiel (sp?) so i just need to make sure i get him to look at the article(s) before this guy turns up tonight. Does anyone have any 1st hand experience of this Co though? IMHO all Co's are gen. ok 'til you miss a payment!! Although i am old enough and wise enough to realise no-one does anything for nothing in this life and its usually a case of picking the best of a bad bunch!!?
  13. Hi There My OH has made an appt for a guy from this Co to pop round to see us tonight to see if they can help get us out of the financial hole we are in. Does anyone have any experience of them as i was looking at CCCS and then he came across these guys. they are based in Keighley and their website says its not loans (which we would like to avoid) Any help appreciated. Thank you KTE
  14. Thanks, i will keep you posted - just to warn you though i think this could get really messy - i've had years of grief with Lloyds and i'm not going to go down without a fight K
  15. Grrr - i hate it when he's right Seriously though - Thanks nicsussex! I figure they must've set up a new dept due to the massive increase in these requests. I notice when you ring them now the recorded message at the start says if you are calling re bank charges to press option 1 and for everything else press 2. Glad we're causing them that much grief with all our requests that they've had to shell out on a whole new dept Thanks again. K
  16. Hi there, I'm just about to send my SAR but i had an address in London Data Protection Dept Lloyds TSB Bank The Pentagon 48 Chiswell St London, EC1Y 4XX This is also the address that some smary little up-start gave me previously when i said i was going to follow this up Hubby has just looked again under the contacts thread in this forum and he's found an address at Military Road, in Chatham. I don't want to send it to the wrong place and give them an excuse not to comply or to delay the process so can somebody please clarify. Is there a new address to send your SAR to...? TIA K
  17. Thanks Gladstanes, I think you're right - i should tackle the loan first, this is what has been the MAJOR problem in my nearly 30 yrs banking with them - hah so much for loyalty getting you anywhere!! I find it VERY hard to remain calm with these lot but i know i MUST!!! I lost it again on the phne last night; they rang me from India, when i was eating my dinner but i was interested to hear what they had to say Needless to say after about half an hour, my call was terminated The women drove me nuts and said i had agreed £25 off my loan and £11 of my o/d :o i don't know where she got this from i agreed £20 & £20 - bizarre!!!! But i'm past caring now I must endeavour to think calm ('smug rubbing hands thinking about MY money coming back to me') thoughts
  18. hi Gareth, yes this does help thanks. i thought this was the answer but want to ensure i get it right!! Thanks again K x
  19. Hi Folks - quick Qu for you Lloyd-ies I want to dispute the remainder of my loan as Lloyds, for reasons unknown have not managed to take their money by DD for...probably about the last year - they ring me pestering that i've cocked up then look, realise its them and offer to manually transfer it over to which i say 'why didn't you just do that in the first place as its your error and stop wasting both our time..?!' Anyhoo, this has been an ongoing issue on & off for roughly the duration of the loan - hence the fact i now have a 'reputation' for abusing the staff i figure that all there cock ups have delayed the closure by allowing the remaining balance to comprise entirely of late charges and interest accrued at a higher rate due to them not taking money ontime when they had cleared funds on which to draw... If you're still with me...!!?? So to cut to the chase (sorry, i waffle - i know!) Do i follwo the same SAR, LBA etc process. I want copies of all the notes made on my millions of telecons etc.... I need to get my SAR's posted today, also do i post one for all my a/cs and how many fews do i then pay...? TIA Everyone
  20. Hi Gareth, Following your thread with interest; i'm just about to tackle these a$$holes myself Quick Qu. for you as i have multiple a/cs with them, one of which is one of their 'forced into a corner' loans!!? Did you submit one SAR for all you a/c's and if so how many £10 fees? I think i read on here somewhere that the answer i'm looking for is 'one & one' but i want to double-check and thought you may be able to help. Did you list all the account nos at the top pf your letter..? TIA K x
  21. steer well clear of n-power. they are ****. by the way this was my husband posting. so excuse the language although i am behind him and share the same opinion. they won't do anything to help you and make your life a misery.
  22. Thanks John72 - some good advice there! This is why i picked my user name and was going to scan the tree on the back of the envelopes they send to use as my avatar but haven't yet!! I have often said to them 'save a tree'; don't send me your stupid letters telling me I'VE not keep my end of the bargain when its YOU that can't take a DD from an account!?!?!' They did think they'd worked it out once; i have a particularly long name and when i got married and double-barrelled it they thought it was this in the 'name field' on the system causing it to fail but they changed it to 'Mrs. S A Tree' and that didn't work either and now this div on the 'phone last night tells me i'm a liar and that NO-ONE would EVER set up a DD over the phone even though countless people have tried to re-set it!?!!??! WTF???? I asked if i had been on Acid for the last 6 years and was on one long dis-illusioned trip? He said 'maybe' Mine all started in 99/2000, i'd just got a new car and was worried about missing a payment and asked them to temporarily extend my O/D but instead they backed little ol' naive me into a loan. I wish i knew then what i know now but hey ho, life is one great big learning curve and i learnt this time, good and proper!! I'm sorry to hear about your father and how they took advantage of you when you were probably vulnerable and concentrating on far more important things - they make me feel physically sick, they way they abuse vulnerable people is disgusting - it shouldn't be allowed Good luck to you and i'll keep you posted Kx
  23. Hi nicsussex I'm a bit calmer today!! I've spent a lot of time on here reading all the bumpf and learning the process, well as much as possible. I actually took 2 days off work to sit and trawl through the site educating myself. It all sounds a bit confusing but i'm sure it'll become clearer as i work my way through. I'm just about to re-do my SAR though as the one i saved is pre-the change to the 6 year rule IYSWIM!!?! I'll let you know K x
  24. damn right i do!!! They have made my life a misery for too long now - they can make as many cock ups as they like - the whole a/c is one big mess - why can a bank NOT take a DD when there are cleared funds and it has been agreed over the phone (as advised BY THEM!!!!) that it is set up for each month - it leaves me UTTERLY astounded, honest to god, i make one slip up and it s BOOM - hit with the book I hate them
  25. Hi Guys, I have had a right result with Welcome tonight after battling with them since Jan 07. Prior to this i had been (in their words an 'A-Class Customer') up to the point where i missed a payment in jan and then a 2nd in Feb. Anyway, to get to the point, i've been following 'itsme..'s case with great interest as my a/c was due to finish in June so was in a similar position to 'Itsme..'. So, following her ('strong') lead i wrote and requested to cancel my Medicare and PPI. Today when i rang to check if they'd done it (they hadn't confirmed in writing as i'd requested) i was told my a/c had been passed to Collections (i've struggled to pay this year) and gave me a number to call (after a few 'words' of wisdom' from yours truly ). The up-shot of this is, they have written and offerd to 'half-settle' my a/c and as i was about to pay £60 short of half the amount left it looks as if they are gonna write off this paltry amount . I am just waiting for a call tomorrow from Kelly in Nottingham (who was a star, it must be said and who just patiently listened while i banged on & on about how crap they are at the Boston Branch!) but i'm confident it will be all gone by this time tomorrow.... ...and then i'm into the ba$t@rd$ for all my charges and PPI I just thought it may be useful to anyone nearing the end of their agreement as you may get the option to half-settle too which at least means you, like me could be c. £140 better off each month and puts m/you/us in a better position to pursue them for all the 'nasty' bits HTH K x
