  1. just been reading this exciting thread, and it was great to see "I WON". My partner has an abbey account, who i have tried to persuade him to claim back charges. Today when he went to the cashpoint, and they had takne more charges, he called me, to get the ball rolling. He has had enough, and heres to a battle. I know that when he calims his charges, it will be in the same region of about 7 or 8K. So i'm ready to start
  2. i recieved 2 cheques this morning, both 75.00 each. cool.
  3. I sent 2 prelims for my mothercare and frasercard on the 13th april. requesting 75.00 each, and did not include interest, as it seems they don't pay it. i got 2 letters from them this morning, saying they will pay the money as gogw for each acct. and they will send chq in next 7-10 working days. well impressed. Thanks all. will now do prelim for dorothy perkins card, but more complicated, as it resulted in ccj.

am waiting until get enough erxtra money to do the mcol for my partners card. For my card, i recieved the stats, and am sending prelim for 562.00 for that, and sending letter of dispute to Hamptons legal who are chasing it. will post these tomorrow.
  5. i got the same letter quite some time ago, then heard nothing for few months. Then recived altter this week from Connaught, who it has been passed to now. they say they are filing for bankrupty, and after reading lots of threads and getting advice, this seems like just a scare tactic. they sent it via post, which is not the proper way to serve a Stautory demand, and they probably don't even legally own the account.
  6. thank you all for your advise , it's very helpful, and eases the worrying.
  7. thats good then , i'll just ignore, as they cannot prove i have recieved it.
  8. they can't put charge on property if we rent?
  9. I ordered sky broadband in january, after lots of waiting and been told problems with the line, we eventually git it active in the middle of march. This was well past the timescale given by Sky. I wrote them a letter nearly 5/6 weeks ago, complaining about the service for my order, and requested that they refund me the £40 paid for the router, and £23 that i used for my internet dilaup costs , that should not have been incurred if my Broadband went live as they said. This morning i recived a ltter apologising , and them refunding £20 pound, which they have already taken off my Sky bill. Am thinking about sending them a letter, and asking for the whole amount again, and not just £20.
  10. we rent our property , so theres no chance of putting a charge on the property. i don't mind setting up payment plan to pay off the amount even if it takes a good few years, just don't want bankrupty to affect my credit history for 6 yrs from now.
  11. iwhat if i send sar to lloyds asap. so if the stat demand is real, they cannot continue as the acct will be in dispute. How does that sound?????
  12. i'm getting confused by the threads i read. some say send a CCA, and some say ignore it because it's a scare tactic. if i ignore it, and it is real, how soon after will i recieve more correspondence from them about the demand thanks all for help and advice so far.
  13. so i should just ignore it. even if i sent them a cca, that would be acknowledging, so i shouldn't send that either. is that right?
  14. if lloyds passes a debt to 1st credit, are they collecting on behlaf of Lloyds, or has lloyds just sold it to them, and if 1st credit get any money back , then they keeps it and don't pass it to lloyds. Hope this makes sense
  15. it looks real though. i read that they can serve this by post, if they are sure you live there.
  16. post stamp says 18/04/07, whereas letter says 17th. just says 44p postage paid.
  17. Hi, Please help. This morning i recived a statutory demand from Connaught in regards with a loan i had with Lloyds TSB. Llloyds passed it to 1st Credit ltd, who have now passed it to Connaught to make be bankrupt. The amount outstanding is £9886.66, which was a loan. I had financial problems 2 years ago, and have not yet been in a position to make payments for this debt. What should i do?? I don't want them to make be bankrupt???
  18. it's a new build and we rent it, we asked the landlord and she does not know. so we are the first occupiers of the house.
  19. We moved into our new property in august 2006, and since then we have only recieved one bill and that was from severn trent. How do we find out who supplies our electric and gas. checked the meters, and there is no supplier information on there. Don't want to leave it, just in case we don't get any bills for some time, and then all of sudden recive a large hefty bill. Any advise will be greatly appreciated.
  20. Hi. i have prelims for all 3 accts, and ready to post. They wrote that they were unable to find any transcation history for mothercare acct, so i checked my credit record, and it shows 5 late payments. So i have sent prelim for that estimating the charges at 15 pound each, total £75. I am just claiming charges and not the interest.

thanks for the help. The card was destroyed ages ago, and i would never ask them for another. When doing a mcol, is it possible to check the acknowldgements or dates online.
  23. Hi Just had a reply to my LBA i sent. 'Thank you for writing back to me about the refund of £168.00 we've added to you account. I'm sorry to hear that you feel this is unacceptable. As i've already explained, we're confident our fees are both fair and legal and i'm disappointed to hear you're considering court action. The OFT haven't told us that we're obliged to refund any fees, and we've offered refunds as a gesture of goodwill. I'm afraid i won't be refunding all of the fees as you've asked and i won't be increasing the refund, as it is my final offer.' Mr Uddy sounds quite positive he wont refund anymore, shall i carry on and begin court action. Is this a standard reply, as i can't afford to carry on, if he really means it. I've asked for £564 to be refunded, and the account balance oustanding is just over £200.00. Please help.
  24. Also, should i send prelim letter first or just send the LBA for the store card before a prelim letter.
