  1. If NatWest don't know another way then report their adverts to the advertising standards people - that's whay they claim.

Seriously, they are probably the best people to advise, but beware, they can be particularly unhelpful.

This being the reason for me asking here,as having dealt with Nat West extensively,I know only too well just how unhelpful they can be at times.

Thanx for taking the time in replying to me.

  2. Hi All!

Right, this is for a friend .

She has had a great success in being able to get a settlement in full for her Visa card. The snag is that she is over her credit limit and the debt was sold on.She rang Halifax and asked them to let the DCA know that the acc was in dispute as the DCA was having none of it....

The Halifax told her that they would not do so as they no longer owned the debt.So when she accepted the offer she asked for the money to be paid to her by cheque. So as it's been 12 days that she sent the acceptance letter with request to send the money by cheque and she had heard nothing she rang them this morning and was told that they would not send it to her as it is company policy to simply add the money to the account.

Is right of them to do so or is it possible to challenge this,as she was hoping to get a settlement figure out of DCA and have a bit left over.

Any advice would really be helpful!!

    Thank's Trish

  4. Neighbours son just passed test left car in gear and drove straight in to our stationary car.Non fault accident to us reported it to insurance etc. Our car gets picked up by Midland recovery and gets taken to Holdcroft Body repair shop.3 days later get a call from Helphire who were appointed by our broker, asking where our car was :o . Holdcroft didnt know and Midland recovery said it had been delivered by them to Holdcroft the day it was picked up.Found this out after going to their office in person and saw the delivery note.So then took a trip to Holdcroft and our car was not on their system ....!Took it upon myself to walk through their entire ground and guess what our car was there the entire time!! What a bunch of so & so's!!

  5. I GUESS after having spent quite some time on here , incl. the days in the chat room people got friendly and those days incl. Sally and Hag. So I can understand if Sally found it somewhat of a "personal loss " in a way, to see that Hag is no longer about. So why not ask in such a way ? Would other PINKS GREENS or even the REDS not feel a little flattered to have had such an inpact by way of helping someone out of a crisis that they or their help would be missed?

  6. I just want to ask what has happened to Hagenuk?

He has suddenly lost his pink colour (which never really suited him as he is too macho :D )

    Was this his choice?

If so I just want to say hag, you were a massive help to me.

The letter you wrote for me helped not just myself but many others who also used it.

You were always there to help when I got nervous.

And I know many other's have benefitted from your vast knowledge on many things.

I hope you will still be here to help.

If it is not his choice I want to ask "what is going on?"

Hagenuk has been the biggest help to this site and I expected him to go green soon.

He could answer questions on anything!

The support he gave me in PM's with both my daughter's difficulties was incredible.

Hag may not have posted as much as other pinkies but all his posts were valid, he didn't make silly pointless comments to keep his post rate up.

This site without a pink Hagenuk is like Perky being missing.

Hag you've been amazing and this site will be worse off if you choose to leave.

    Much love Sally xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

    Hi Sally !!

Somehow I doubt that you will get an answer.

    Many kind regards

    Trish xx

  7. ...or of course, they could but out completely and let us get on with it.

Go to France. You will see children in pubs, constantly. You don't see them turning into raging alkies later on in life (with some exceptions I agree).

Could it be that they have a better attitude towards it - probably. The opening of the pubs 24 hours (or so they say) is the first step towards this.

I totally agree with your point. At the same time kids in other European countries have things they can actually go and do outside of school and grow up totally different compared to our teenagers for example. They still have youth clubs where they can go and hang out together etc and yes as you say the 24hour opening thing is most deff a step forwards where people should not have the pressure of having to drink themselves in to a total stupor before a certain time.

  8. Yes smoking is bad has great financial impacts on the NHS etc and yes there is a huge risk of lung cancer and yes it's not nice for a non smoker to be subjected to second hand smoke, etc. etc. I agree with all that.

What I dont agree with is the way in wich the ban was implemented and it should have been handled in a much more diplomatic wayand the government should have got it's priorities right i.e. Look at things that have a worse effect on society first.

Alcohol.Nobody wants to debate the dangers or the addictiveness of it,and yet it too has very detrimental effects on our health, the NHS and not only that but on the general wellbeing of society too.Tell me of one family that has split up over the addiction to tobacco on a day to day basis.Does anybody know of somebody who got divorced because their husband was a smoker?Advertising of anything to do with tobacco had to stop, why not so with alcohol?

Alcohol has very far reaching effects on our society in ways that nobody wants to admit to and yet it's ok to base entire soaps on TV around pubs and demonstrate and show kids who watch these ,the violence that comes spilling out of pubs etc.

We all know the dangers of smoking, but as adults who are allowed to frequent in pubs and the like should be able to have a choice and the big shots in government should focus more on issues like Alcohol and maybe allow places such as clubs etc .decide if they want to offer a smoking room.

  9. That's what I'm after, plus I only have to do the job I'm doing (and I got bored with this after 10 years, five years ago), because it's the only thing I can do that brings in enough money to pay for the house(s), so without them I'm free to retrain, or simply go and be a petrol pump attendent.

I'm fed up with earning a decent wage, and always having no money.

This seems to solve all of those problems.

Plus, with the luck I've had with houses, I want it to be someone elses problem WHEN they go wrong.

I've had 2 boilers go and flood the house, the last one burnt part of it too, the electrics went at one point and all had to be done again, the list is endless over a 7 year period, so I think it might be for the best.

Totally with you with regards to never having any money just for the sake of paying for a house.

Renting is the thing to do in my opinion and the thing about having a mortgage ?? Well I'd rather have the security of being able to pack up and go and that repairs and all that comes with it wont affect my wallet.

As for selling your house(s) Dave ,I'm sure going by the description, and providing your boiler probs (lol) have been sorted you'll have no probs !!;)

  10. Personally I dont think renting is such a bad idea .

You pay you weekly or monthly rent and therefore have the security that if something goes wrong with the house it is not you who needs to foot the bill or make an insurance claim. Also if something goes wrong ie jobloss, relationship breakdown etc. you simply hand in your notice and relocate.

    Trish:)

  11. Yes you can claim against them again. In your settlement letter for your first claim they will have stated that you will still be able to incurr charges on your account but this does not stop you claiming again.

Usually for smaller amounts they do tend to settle a little quicker too, usually before having to file through the courts.
