  1. You know what. If they go to the year then it won't do them any good at all because I will not pay. I've stuck out this long and intend to carry on.
  2. Sorry, I forgot to mention the so called debt started out at £50, this doubled to £100 within 14 days, and then increased to £145 within 21 days. Its still stands at £145.
  3. The first letter from UKPC was dated 12 Jan 2009 and I have never responded to them. I think that the tone of this latest letter appears to be slightly less threatening than the previous ones so maybe they're coming to the end of their range of intimidating letters.
  4. Hi everyone. Just got my 13th letter (2 weeks after the previous one)from UKPC via Rossendales and Credit Security Ltd. This one says: "In good faith we agreed that the above debt could be settled by regular instalments. However, you have once again failed to meet the terms. IT DOES NOT SEEM UNCREASONABLE TO EXPECT YOU TO PAY FOR GOODS OR SERVICES WHICH YOU OBTAINED AND ON WHICH YOU HAVE BEEN GIVEN EXTENDED CREDIT TERMS. Your default is increasing costs and we now trust that you will ACT IMMEDIATELY and send a remittance to reduce your arrears. Your failure to make payment voluntarily will leave us with no alternative other than to ENFORCE payment through the Courts". 1. I have made no agreement to settle by regular instalments. 2. I have obtained neither goods nor services from them, so I don't see why they should UNREASONABLY expect payment for providing me with nothing. Does anyone know how many more letters I can expect?
  5. Hi. No I haven't contacted them at all. When I was given the first ticket, by the person had been driving my vehicle, I was gobsmacked and thought it was most odd that the ticket had been issued for the crime of parking over 2 bays and in a disabled car park space so I googled the UKPC charge and found this site. I read through the whole thread and decided to go with the ignoring the letters recommendation. I must admit though, as each one got decidedly more threatening, I wondered if I was doing the right thing so I would come back to the forum and read what others had done and I found the courage to just keep going. Even now, I can but hope that I'm doing the best thing and that it doesn't end up with me in court. Even in my weaker moments I still can't believe that this is a ligitimate charge.
  6. Hi. Just got my 12th letter again from Credit Security Ltd. They're back on their 14 day between letters schedule. Its a NOTICE OF ACTION and says they intend to give instructions for legal action to be commenced against me. This could add extra costs to the amount already due. IT IS IN YOUR OWN INTEREST TO PROTECT YOUR CREDIT REPUTATION and legal action will be withdrawn providing full settlement is in our hands within the next 7 DAYS. Could it be coming to an end I wonder?
  7. Aaaaarrrrgggghhhh. Its the weight of all those letters and now not knowing whether to expect one every 14 days or 25 days or, and (I can dream) maybe never again! I'm wondering whether or not the next one will come from their Solicitors as threatened and who their Solicitors will turn out to be. Ah well at least life isn't dull while there are these gits out there.
  8. The latest in my saga. I've just received my 10th letter. Once again this is from Credit Security Ltd and says: "Although every opportunity has been given to you to settle your account in a reasonable manner, you have continually chosen to disregard our communictions. We are not prepared to tolerate any further delays in this matter and would now formally advise you that our Client intends to obtain judgement against you in the County Court and if nevessary apply for an Attachment of Earnings to ensure full settlement of this account. If you wish to avoid this action, it is in your own interest to forward a payment immediately, together with a firm promise of regular payments in settlement of your account. We do not intend to continually remind you of your obligation and therefore will place your account with our Solicitors if no response is received within the next SEVEN DAYS". I just wondered what an Attachment of Earnings is really. If they really don't intend to continually remind me you'd think they'd just stop sending their letters eh. Interestingly, they've allowed 25 days between letters this time instead of their usual 14 days.
  9. Hi. I got a payslip one 3 letters ago. The next one will be from a Debt Enforcement Office DEMANDING you pay IMMEDIATELY and if you dont it oculd result in a DEBT COLLECTOR calling upon you for a CCJ being registered against you. The one after that is from the same people saying documents for legal action are now being prepared by their department. The one I got this morning says that they may proceed with legal action for recovery through Aylesbury County Court. I haven't ever received any phone calls though, although that may be because my telno is ex directory. What a blessing!! The letter seem to come at 2 week intervals so I'll wait and see what comes through my letterbox the week after next. I have never responded to any of the letters and just come back to the forum for support each time I receive a letter. The advice on here is still to ignore them and thats what I will continue to do. I wish somebody would stop them threatening people though.
  10. Thank you all for your support. They really do appear to be unwilling to give up on me, so we'll see what the next one says.
  11. I've just received my 10th letter and this one is also from Credit Security Ltd. It says that: 1. You have ignored repeated applications for settlement. 2. You have had the benefit of goods/services supplied for which you have not paid. (I've had no goods or services!!!) Unless we hear from you within seven days with a payment and repayment proposal we may without further notice: a. INSTRUCT ONE OF OUR LOCAL COLLECTORS TO CALL UPON YOU FOR PAYMENT. b. PROCEED WITH LEGAL ACTION FOR RECOVERY THROUGH AYLESBURY COUNTY COURT. IT IS IN YOUR OWN INTEREST TO MAKE AN ARRANGEMENT FOR SETTLEMENT NOW BY COMPLETING THE PORTION BELOW AND RETURNING THE ENTIRE LETTER TO HIS OFFICE. Has anyone had one of these and do I need to worry that they actually will go to court?
  12. I've just received my 9th letter - once again this one is from Credit Security Ltd and says "The documents for legal action are now being prepared by my department and if judgment is obtained, this could: COST YOU MONEY, PREVENT YOU OBTAINING FURTHER CREDIT. Send payment IMMEDIATELY to stop this action being taken". Note the non British spelling of judgement! I will, of course, file it with the rest and wait for the next one to arrive.
  13. I wonder if a TV program like Watchdog would want to get involved and investigate it. I would have thought that its a big enough [problem] to interest them.
  14. Thanks for the advice. I will continue to ignore the letters and pin them up on my board. They're quite intimidating when you first open them, but after taking a step back the threat recedes somewhat. I can't believe that they are allowed to get away with this stuff.
  15. following on from the last post post. I have never responded to any of the letters and I'm inclined to continue to ignore this new one, but just wondered if anyone had heard of this new Debt Collection Agency that UKPC are using. Many thanks for all the help posted here.
  16. Hi. I too got a UKPC parking charge on 8 Jan 2009 and to date I've received 8 of their letters. Four letters are from Rossendales Collect, then one letter with 3 edges to tear off warning me that my credit rating could be seriously affected and I will be visited by a debt collector and the last one this morning from a Debt Enforcement Office of Credit Security Limited, The Old Court House, High Street, Whitchurch, Bucks, HP22 4JS. I've been reading this forum and haven't seen this name mentioned so I wondered whether this is a new company that UKPC are using. It says that they have been instructed by their Client to recover the debt and DEMAND that I pay them £145.00 IMMEDIATELY. Failure to comply could result in a DEBT COLECTOR calling upon me or a COUNTY COURT JUDGEMENT being registered. I have never responded to any of the letters and I'm inclined to continue to ignore this new one, but just wondered if anyone had heard of this new Debt Collection Agency that UKPC are using. Many thanks for all the help posted here.
