  1. Woo Hoo!!! Right on cue, a letter arrived this morning offering a full settlement . Thanks to everyone who gave me the confidence to believe this would happen!!! As I previously said in this post, that was round 1 with RB0S as the total amount I was claiming for was over £750. Todays letter from TMcL states, among other things, "Payment is to be made on the basis of a full and final settlement of your complaint". Does this mean if I accept this offer I am unable to start another claim? I was very specific with dates on every letter I wrote (ie, this claim is 2002-2004 and the second claim is from 2005 onwards) so I think it's a separate claim, therefore it's OK for me to accept it and start another claim. Does this make sense?
  2. Thanks T4FF, that's exactly what I needed. With any luck, I'll get the same response you did!! I also have a 2nd claim to make on the same account. I live in Scotland so had to keep the total amount under £750 so I've split it into 2 claims. I'll be watching your thread to see how you get on with your claim on your second account. Good luck!
  3. Wow, old Tommy McLean's reply came quicker than I anticipated. As predicted, I received my partial offer letter offering £374.00. I've been reading through the template letters and I'm a bit confused what to do next. I guess I need to write back a 'thanks, but no thanks' letter but I can't find a template for it. Also, what's the next step. It's all a bit nerve wracking :o , but I suppose that's the banks's intention. They'll be hoping that we all accept the partial offers and slip away quietly! Clint1974's post restored my faith and gave me the confidence to carry on (thanks Clint )
  4. Question - I've sent all my previous correspondence to RBoS Head Office in Edinburgh. Should I send my LBA to Tommy McLean at the Customer Relations address (ie, the address at the top of the letter he sent)? Just typing it now.....................
  5. Thanks for all your kind words. Received my sod-off letter from Tommy McLean today. At least we're keeping someone in a job!! I guess the next step is the LBA I'll post it on Monday. I'll keep you all posted.
  6. Hi all I got my statements from RBoS and calculated that they owe me £882.00 so my letter for claim 1 (£620.00) will be posted in the morning. Feeling a bit nervous about it but also feel I have plenty of support here if I get worried I'm a bit confused with my RBoS statements though. I had a Royalties Account which cost £5 per month. Each month the statement has an entry of "CHG TO DDMMM A/C XXXXXXX £5.00", but on months where I went over my overdraft limit it still just gave one CHG entry for a total of £25. Does this mean the amount I claim for that month is £20? Also, on months with the £25 CHG, directly underneath this entry there was a similar looking one (still "CHG TO DDMMM A/C XXXXXX" with another amount eg £5.27. I presume this is interest charged by them for going over my limit? The amount seems a bit strange for going over my limit by £10 or so for 1 day. Can anyone clarify what this charge is? I've not included it in my 1st claim. I'm trying to keep the amount under £750 so doing it in 2 stages. Thank you everyone in advance for being helpful and friendly. Hopefully one day I'll be able to return the favour!
  7. Thanks for getting back to me Mike. I'm glad I waited for a reply. I'm about to claim £900+ from RBoS! 2 stages it is then!!
  8. What's the significance of keeping the claim under £750?? Also, can we only claim for the last 5 years in Scotland? Sorry, just discovered the site and going a bit google-eyed reading all the posts!!
