Well, I won my claim against IF last week (see my other thread) this morning I have received a letter from If saying that on 27th Oct my I was over my overdraft limit by £0! & that they are charging me £28 for this! SO thats bad enough, I go online & check my balance just to make sure nothing weird has gone wrong & they have taken away my overdraft facility, a strongly worded letter is on the way! Surely they have to notify me if they are taking away the overdraft? How can they charge me for being £0 over my overdraft though? Its seems they have turned nasty, I opened a new Alliance & Leicester account a few months back, just in case, I think we will make the move now.

:grin: money in the bank today :grin: I received the letter saying because it would be too expensive to fight my claim & without accepting blame blah blah blah, offered in full. I didnt want to post that I had won until I actually had the money there as I was sure something would go wrong. Off to have a look at how I donate. Do I need to PM a mod to get the thread title changed?

Congratulations on your win! I was getting a little nervous as I received notice from MCOL that IF intend to defend, but I see that happened to you too, so fingers crossed all with go well for me to.

I received a 25% offer too, the day after their time ran out from the LBA, so I just ignored it & filed with moneyclaim online yesterday

Received a letter today offering a partial refund of £179 :o the total I am claiming is now over £700 cheeky beggars. Will start MoneyClaim this evening.

Hiya, Can you tell me which address you used on Moneyclaim? I've put in the Livingston one & it says its outside of UK so I cannot use it. Did you have the same problem? Or do you have a different addy for them?

Bog standard letter received today (pretty quick!) saying see T&Cs etc. LBA sent 15th September. Not having to pay for postage either as I found a load of their pre-paid envelopes they used to send out

pre-lim letter sent 11th September, will go & mark 14 days on my calender, claiming £525..............................

List of charges received this morning, which I thought was pretty quick. Total charges £530 over 6 years. I'm going to have a read through all the info again to make sure I know what i'm doing, then I will write & post the next letter.

Rang N'wide this morning to try to negotiate to get our overdraft debt reduced, its not that large, £220, but the account is unused, I said I wanted to pay it off this month & said that most of that figure is due to charges. I was really surprised by her response, she said it shouldnt be much of a problem as we hadnt been using the account & to write to the Branch service centre with details of all my charges, saying that we want to pay it off & they will action it for me. I've just registered for online banking so I can see my statements, but I estimate probably £160 of our overdraft is charges, so i'm hoping the take them all off & I can pay it off & close the account. Will have to wait & see what actually happens, but it sounds positive.

They have just replied, they have passed on my request for details of charges & they should be here 'shortly' they normally charge £10 for this service, but because we are a valued customer they are sending it free of charge. So far so good..............

Thank you Karnevil, yup, I requested the info under the data protection act, i've always corresponded with them via e-mail & did so with this request, before I found this site & read its recomendations, if I do not get an e-mail reply today, I will follow it up with the letter as advised.

Hi claimitall, thank you for your reply & the reply to my post in the intro room. I didnt think it would be a problem putting this in the IF room in addition to my original post, as that was an introduction to myself, as recommended where as this is specific to my claim against IF. If it is OK, I would like to continue to log the details of my claim against IF on this thread, it would get lost over in the other room & I'd like to be able to provide easy to find info for anyone else starting an IF claim. I have read & re-read the FAQs & most of the info on the site, so I am ready to go into battle lol. Good luck with your claim
