  1. Update

    - there is no registered CCJ in either my maiden name or married name on the trust site.

I am waiting for the paperwork that Link Financial have with great interest.

I have no idea if they will be sending any but expect they will call me on the phone on Tuesday next week as they have promised

    - if they do I will be requesting all further communication to be in writing.

Then I guess I will deal with them if/when I get anything in writing

    - so far they have not sent even one letter it has just been phone calls.

  2. Oh right

    - I am pretty sure that there was one

    - I think but as I say it was so long ago

    - I haven't kept any paperwork or anything from them so who knows.

I guess I will see what they can produce in their paperwork.

    Then go from there

    - once it gets here would it be ok for me to message you if I need further help?

  3. The loan and CCJ were in my maiden name

    - now I am using my married name

    - when they come on the phone they say my name and then formerly known as

    - so they know that I am not using it anymore and I am fairly sure that they would have a record of that on my credit file.

I have used my married name since 1995.

Complete madness and I have had credit cards and bank account since then.

  4. As I have said it was a long time ago

    - two children later I am pretty sure that it was sent for a CCJ

    - I am not 100% though

    - there is no record of it on my credit file and clearly it was over 6 years ago

so I have no way of finding out.

I guess that I will wait for the paperwork to come through and then see from there.

  5. They have told me today that they have sent me paperwork out

and that they will get this resent and that they are calling me in a week

    - I said that I was not saying anything to them until I had checked the information out

    - I guess their only option would be to ask the court to reissue the CCJ

    - if this was to happen would this then show on my nice clear credit report now?

  6. Hi all

Wondering if someone can give me some advice

    - I had a student loan in 1994, this was CCJ'd in 1999

    - I have heard nothing about this since

but I have had a call from Link Financial regarding this.

I told them that I believed the debt to be statute barred but I have had a call from them today saying that as the debt had been CCJ'd

this did not apply and that the balance is now outstanding.

I have worked really hard over the last few years to sort out the mess that I got myself into

and there is nothing re this on my credit file.

    Is the debt Enforcable?

I have no idea what to do now or who to get help from and would be grateful if I could get some advice.

I have found out that because it is a CCJ, it is not classed as statute barred, but that court may have to give the DCA permission to enforce the debt

    - any ideas on what to do next?

    Thanks.

  7. Hi all

I brought some chicken kievs in my local Tesco store on 10/06/2010, I put said chicken in the fridge and then went out. I went to cook the chicken on Friday 11/06/2010 and the packaging was blown. I checked the date and noticed it was in fact 10/06/2010. I have been back to my local store today and was told that food can still be sold on the same day as the use by date, it is my responsibility to check the dates on my purchases and how are thet supposed to be able to tell when I wish to eat my meals. I am a little bit miffed only because I was cooking a meal for my boyfriend and we ended up having chinese takeaway. Just wondered if someone could give me some advice, I only wanted the bloody things swapped so I could eat the meal.

    Thanks in advance.

  8. Hi all, glad that I have found this thread I have had a 'previous address letter' this morning, will be filing it as per instructions under "SH" for ****e. Take it that I may be hearing from then within a couple of weeks to find out which debt it is they are chasing. After reading this and seeing a few posters in the same boat, I wonder whether it is because Christmas is on its way and that is why they are sending out letters! Does anyone else agree.

  9. We are currently living in private accomodation let by a private landlord and our boiler has been condemmed today due to a CO (carbon monoxide) leak - we have felt dreadful for days and thanks to an article in a womens magazine we fitted CO detectors yesterday, which changed colour after the heating had been switched on. The local council has been round today with a Corgi engineer and now thank god we are all safe!!!

We are having to move into temporary accomodation whilst the HSE send an order to our landlord giving him 14 days to provde us with an adequate boiler, heating and hot water system. I just want everyone out there to learn from this - landlord and tenants alike please fit some carbon monoxide detectors - I believe that 6 quid saved my whole families life.

  10. I have drafted this letter as I do owe the money but have just swept it all under the carpet - I am willing to pay as I have now started to sort myself out financially, any suggestions would be welcomed

    Dear Sir/Madame

I am writing to you reference your later dated 17/08/2007 re my outstanding monies owed to ...................., whilst I am prepared to take full responsibility for this debt and to pay it back at a reasonable level, I am concerned by your mention of a Regulated Credit Agreement and the fact that you wish to charge me for setting up an agreement. I have spoken to Debt Advice regarding this who have suggested that this may not be entirely helpful to my present situation as it does not sound like you are offering me a way of repaying the debt just increasing the amount that I owe.

I would be grateful if you could clarify this situation for me and I would like to inform you in writing that I do not wish to be contacted at any time by telephone and insist that all communication between us is in writing. I look forward to hearing from you in due course.

    Yours truly,
