But I am looking for a rough estimate of an average heating bill for a house (say 3 bed, no double glazing) with normal usage (e.g. night time and weekends October-April, i.e. not being stupid but not being obsessive about saving). Any ideas? Any "official" figures from proper studies? Thanks!

I would like to know whether it is possible to reclaim the £10 I paid for the Subject Access Request, and if so, at what point to do this: when requesting initial repayment of fees, in the Letter Before Action or during the actual claim? Barclaycard have been stopping claims in their tracks with the microfiche argument for months now - I don't believe any successful claims involving the microfiche argument have been reported on this board. DPA requests only take 40 days, and the microfiche problem has been going for months. What is going on?

MARTIN3030, how do you know this? I ask because there is no evidence of successful claims against Barclaycard for pre-2004 charges on this forum.

So, why hasn't anyone reported successfully dealing with Barclaycard on this issue?

The Microfiche problem may be common to a number of organisations but they will not all address it the same way. I have read every thread on the Barclaycard forum; many of them address Microfiche, but none of them report a strategy that has worked! When I check back in a week or so I will no doubt have to read every thread again to see if there has been any progress on this issue! That is why a sticky thread for the key issues would be helpful.

Hello everyone I've been reading this forum for the last couple of weeks as I have paid a number of late payment charges to Barclaycard over the years. This forum is a fantastic resource and I have learned a lot about these charges can be claimed back. However, I think that a small change in how we post could make a big difference. Attempts at claiming back payment charges from Barclaycard usually result in a number of common problems. One, for example, is Barclaycard's argument that their Microfiche statements are not covered by the Data Protection Act; another is their strategy of offering to refund the excess over the £12 they claim is "recommended" by the Office of Fair Trading. I think it would be of great benefit to this forum if each of these problems were given a sticky thread of their own so that it would appear at the top of the forum so that we can easily see how people are dealing each issue. I am currently trying to deal with the Microfiche problem and have had to read all the individual claimant threads to figure out nobody has a solution to this yet. I am sure that having a single thread for each problem would speed up our search to figure out how to make a successful claim. Thanks!
