  1. Thanks for your reply! I am willing to wait as long as it takes and go as far as it takes to get what is rightfully my boyfriends. So fingers crossed they start taking us all seriously! Will keep everyone posted!
  2. Precisely! When I handed my letter in at Hfx who I am claiming against, the chap who I have kind of become friends with from complaining so much, said exactly that would happen! He said they would just offset the costs against their other services, and suprise suprise YB are first to jump on the band wagon! It really makes me sick! Wonder how long before the others follow! Saying that Hfx did put there's up from £30 to £39 a few months ago! AAArrrrrrrgggggghhhhh!
  3. Thank you for your message. I only rang as I had received no notification of the charges by either post or internet banking and was somehwat shocked they had been charged. I never quoted anything other than asking why they had been charged. He then said what I wrote above. I said not to do anything and I would get back to them if I had any futther queries. I will just leave it and add it on to the claim. Many thanks Claire
  4. Hi Have just had another two charges totalling £67 taken from my account today! Have rang Halifax and they have said as a "gesture of goodwill" they will reverse this, but he starting saying that this means I agree they have acted in accordance with their terms and conditions. Have already sent my DSAR let and am in receipt of most statement. Dont want to jeopardise my position by agreeing for it to be reversed! Any ideas what I should do????? Thanks Claire
  5. Hi They are allowed 40 days to send the statement from the date the cheque is received, however they seem to do this quicker. I sent my request on the 9th and a bundle of Statements arrived on Monday 14th, however 2 years worth are missing!! Hopefully you will get them pretty soon, however patience is one of the things we have to have when tackling these Banks as they will do everything they can to stall us! Good luck with it! Claire
  6. Well yesterday we received my partner's Yorkshire Bank Visa Statement, along with an enclosed letter stating that due to a review of Bank Charges they have now decided to lower them from £20 to £12!! Not sure if anyone else has received this letter or not, but when my partner queried the increased Bank Charges on the Current Account to £25, he was told the Ofcom rules were only applicable to Visa Accounts!!! Interesting I thought! Claire
  7. Hi Could you let me know how you get on and vice versa as I am in exactly the same position. We have closed my partners Visa account and are claiming back charges etc. He also has his current account with them, which I am also claiming charges back on. The initial DSR letters have been sent and I have heard back from current account saying i will get them in the allowed 40 days. Visa DSR letter only sent today. Good luck with them, hope we both get our partners charges back, and they buy us a nice present as a result! haha Claire Hi
  8. Hi I have decided to tackle Yorkshire Bank on behalf of my boyfriend, who has been charged hundred of pounds over the years, and is too lazy to do anything about it! Men eh!! Have sent the DSAR letter off and have today forwarded them the cheque for £10, as they require. I am currently tackling Halifax for myself who, so far, have been quite cooperative. How do YB seem to be at dealing with these issues? I note from the Forums that a few people have had problems with them. If there is anyone out there who is also just starting out, and wants to track progress together, that would be greatl! Claire
  9. Hi, Just to update everyone. I received a response from Halifax on Friday 11th saying my statements would follow within 40 days. Yesterday they all turned up (in separate envelopes!!), however only from 2002-2006. I presume I therefore need to go back to them and ask for the missing statements. Charges from 2002-2006 = £998 (excluding interest). Will keep you updated as to further progress, however was quite shocked by how quickly they arrived! Claire
  10. Hi all, I have just today lodged my first letter to Halifax plc (by recorded delivery) requesting copies of my account charges for the last six years. I think these may total around £1000/£1500 in total over that time period. I can see from the forum that many people have been successful. Do you think it likely that I too will be successful as long as I keep to my guns? I actually had an account closed by them after settling nearly £700 which was all charges about 2 years ago. I no longer have the account details, so am unsure if they will include this in the statments - anyone any ideas? I will keep you all updated as to how I get on, and congrats to all of you who have succeeded with them, and good luck to the rest of us who are mid-way through or starting out! Claire
  11. Hi Chris, I too have joined today and am trying to claim against the Halifax, so please let me know how you get on and I will let you know how I get on. Cheers, and good luck:p Claire
  12. Hi there Firsly will introduce myself - I am Claire, amd 23 years old from Yorkshire, and Halifax plc have made my life a living hell!! Having recently incurred Bank charges, I started to look into this issue, and discovered this site! What a god send!!! I have today filed my first letter with the Halifax requesting details of my account charges over the last 6 years. I estimate that the total of these without interest will be around £1500. I will keep you updated as to how I get on, but can guarantee that now I have the information from this site, I am not giving up without a fight! No confidentiality clauses either! The result of my Bank charges has had a knock on effect even now, as I have to apply to higher loan rate companies for credit because of the defaults registered against me. If I can get these removed too, that would also be great! I will keep you updated as to how I get on, but am seeing this one through to the end. Good luck to the rest of you who are persuing a claim too!
