  1. cheers for ya help all, im gonna put it in my loyds account ill let ya know if they accept it.
  2. sorry been away. i have another bank account with loyds tsb. can i pay the cheque into that account? its just on the cheque it says pay MY NAME into acct: MY NATWEST ACCOUNT NUMBER. would loyds let me put this cheque in my account with them
  3. no they cant cancel the cheque its in a legal letter that they are going to pay. He could do what im thinking of doing. he could offer a full and final settlement offer of say half what hes overdrawn that way he will get more money but im just wondering if there is a legal loophole to stop this. the thing is though that the bank offered me the full and final so surely its their own responsibility.
  4. but if i pay it into the account ill be in credit and will have nothing to do a full and final with, because i will no longer be overdrawn.
  5. yes about £400 extra. I owe 2800 on account and the cheque is 3150. They said in phone call last night they would accept £1600 in a full and final settlement of the account. I said i was taking them to court to recover my charges. she said this has nothing to do with charges im just after the money you are overdrawn. So i was thinking accept her offer of 1600 and have the account closed. but i have the cheque which states to pay into account so if its closed i cant get the money. i cant understand why they didnt pay money into account and send me remiander of the money. they have offered to close my account for 1600 but what happens when i pay the money for full and final and then try to pay cheque in. surely they cant do anything about it
  6. i cant understand why they didnt pay the money directly into my account and send me the remainder of the money.
  7. they were refusing to pay me my charges back and it went to the court stage. court date 23rd feb. They phone me every night to ask for repayment of my overdraft. Last nite they offered me a full and final settlement and i was unsure because i didnt want to pay anything because of court. Now today i received a cheque for the amount i was claiming with letters to end the claim. Im just wondering if i can accept their full and final offer on my account and pay it tonight and then tommorrow go and pay the cheque in. I would pay it into my other bank but they have put my account number on cheque
  8. I had a call last night from the bank offering me a full and final settlement fiqure on my account. I told them that I was taking them to court for unfair charges. court Date was set to feb 23rd. They said they would hold the offer but i would have to make a payment over the phone. I told them id think about it. Today i recieved a cheque for the full amount of charges with two letters to send the court to stop all proceedings. Can i pay the full and final amount then go into the bank tomorrow and cash in my cheque is this legal or can they get out of paying me, or is this two completely different issues. Its just that they have put my account number on cheque and i can only pay it into that account. hope ive explained clearly. cheers all
  9. Hello karen. I am now going through the same process as you. I sent the lba 20 days ago and have now issued court proceedings today. Recieved a letter today from natwest declining to refund all charges and have doubled there offer to 825. An insult as they owe me 2500. They will now get the court summons. In answer to your question my credit rating is bad and I could only get a cash account at lloyds tsb which will allow you to pay money in and take it out. It is a very basic account but does the job. Good luck
  10. Hi ya. Yes thats the letter i recieved on two accounts with rbs. sent LBA within 7 days got a full settlements. Keep goin and dont be fobbed off they dont want to go to court so will settle Good luck
  11. Hi all thought id just let you into a little secret. Ive recently been hammering the rbs for bank charges on 3 accounts. saving, current and credit card. If you ring up your local branch or the one you use to bank (For the credit card ring the number on statement) and say that you want bank statements for tax purposes they will issue them FREE OF CHARGE. Keep up the good work everyone and good luck
  12. they were going to take me to court, sorry i didnt word it right. I never went to court i got a solicitor involved just before it got too far and he settled it on a full and final settlement. Never got a judgement thanks god. i think royal bank i paid them like 1300 of a 1900 debt but am sure charges are more than the difference even it they did open it up again the money i got back from charges would pay the difference. cheers for replying guys realloy is appreciated and ill keep posting to let know how i get on. ive waited so long to have a go at the banks and now i can cheers all
  13. yes i telephoned natwest and they agreed to send me copies of all of my statements for past 4 years for a £5 fee. Which they put on my account. incredible as im £800 over my £1600 overdraft which by the way is all charges from last 6 months so god knows what 4 years will bring. Egg wanted £10 a statement rbs said £3 but phoned up later and got for free. makes you wonder if they are slowly catching on
  14. yes got some letters but have also got credit report which state they are satisfied. Some of the banks knocked £2000 of what i owed them would they claim that the unlawfull charges they made to me were paid back with letting me of a few grand or doesnt it matter what they let me off
  15. About 4 years ago I was in so much debt and was taken to court by a number of companies mainly rbs. I negotiated full and final settlements with them and they accepted. Can i now make a claim against them for charges even though the account is closed and is left as satisfied on my credit report. Can they open up my account again and claim the money which would still be owed.
  16. all the same have been with barclays and natwest and are both rubbish and unfair
  17. About 4 years ago I was in so much debt, the banks took me to court for money I owed, I negotiated full and final settlement with the banks to clear myself. Can i now put a claim in against the banks etc for the charges which they made, even though I paid them full and final settlements, and can they open up my account again a press for the money which would of been outstanding. If it hadnt of been for the charges I would have been able to sort something out:-o
  18. me too im now waiting to send nat west my first letter, they agreed over the phone to send all my statements for a £5 charge which is great. Cant wait to get my charges back. must be around £4000 and 3 defaults woooooooo!!! keep going everyone. power to the people
