  1. Don't worry about this. I had the exact same problem: [problem] said the particulars of my claim were 'too vague' and I also forgot to post them a copy of my schedule of charges. A week or so later I sent both [problem] and the court a letter outlining my charges and, within a month or so, received a letter of settlement. Moreover, when I filed my claim online I miscalculated the amount of interest I thought I was owed and thought this could have been the reason why they said the particulars of my claim were 'too vague'. When I sent the letter to [problem] and the court scheduling my charges, I decided to drop my claim for the interest because I'd miscalculated it and didn't want to complicate matters by sending them a revised calculation. When my settlement came through I saw - with extreme delight - that they had paid me the original sum (including my interest miscalculation) that I had claimed despite my telling them not to bother with the interest !
  2. Hi everyone, I would like to thank everyone who helped me in settling my claim against Lloyds. I didn't make many posts to the site, however, the sheer wealth of information on the site proved invaluable to my successful claim. In light of my success, I have been instructed to recover all the charges my mum's business has incurred over the last 6 years: she's going to give me 25% of the eventual settlement which, as an impoverished doctoral student, will be great for me ! I wish everyone - whether it's those on the verge of starting or those in the midst of their claims - my best wishes. Justice will prevail !
  3. Had offer of settlement sent yesterday from SC&M. Refused all the usual conditions.
  4. Well done Kotum: your ordeal is inspiring me to continue mine. Jones 1769.
  5. Cheers jonni, I'm getting on the case: I will not let them defeat me.
  6. Oh god! Just been to money claim online, it states this regarding my claim: You are unable to take any further action online on this claim. The Defendant disputes the whole amount you have claimed. Your claim cannot proceed online and will be transferred to the appropriate court for continuation. You will receive confirmation to where the claim has been transferred to shortly. Am I really going to court?! I know that I messed up the interest owed on my claim - could this be why?! Help.
  7. I think I'm at roughly the same stage as you - when did Lloyds acknowledge your claim? Jones1769 claim issued: 28/7/2006; deemed served: 1/8/2006; Lloyds acknowledged: 3/8/2006.
  8. Thanks for such a quick response Jonni2bad - it's really appreciated. One further query: are these days in which they have to reply counted as working days; or does the the 28 days literally mean four actual weeks from the initial acknowledged claim? If my claim was acknowledged by Lloyds on 3/8/2006, does that mean that between 31/8/2006 - 1/9/2006, I can claim by default?! Jones1769.
  9. Hello there, Despite this being my very first post, I am already quite a significant way through the process of trying to reclaim my money back from Lloyds. In March I sent the initial letter outlining my intention to reclaim some two years worth of charges amounting to £700 odd pounds: I received the standard reply; in May I sent the letter before action: again, the standard reply; and, finally, on the 28th of July, I filed my claim with Money Claim online. My claim was deemed to have been served on the first of August and, on the third of August, Lloyds acknowledged my claim, stating that they intended to defend the entire claim. Since then I have received no correspondence from Lloyds whatsoever; my question, therefore, is at what point (ie. what date) can I, assuming I receive nothing in the next couple of days from Lloyds, claim a 'victory' by default ? Any help would be greatly appreciated, Jones1769.
