  1. Looking for a bit of advice please. I received a payout from the Bank of Scotland regarding my bank charges for the previous five years in December which was great. But since then, during August, despite nearly £2000 being paid into my bank over August and just £1600 coming off, I've been charged over £500 for overdrawn fees etc. I want to claim these back but I am concerned that I cannot claim against the bank. As it would be a settlement for a different time period am I right in thinking I can still pursue this? Any advice gratefully received!
  2. Jackpot!! Received a letter as many have saying without admitting liability blah blah blah. They have repaid me over £4000, I have it in my bank already. Happy days are here again. I hope this motivates others to do the same!! :) :)
  3. UPDATE! Started a small claim action on the fifteenth of November going through the english court system. As yet the bank have not acknowledged this, I contacted the courts to try and get a default judgement in my favour but they will not proceed with this until the 5th of December (They allow five days for processing etc). Roll on Tuesday. The 5th of December also coincides with the date the BOS promised in their last correspondance to get in touch regarding this matter, coincidence???? Has any one else found this?
  4. Their two weeks is up! Got a letter from a Leonnie Clark (Redress Assessor) saying sorry we haven't got back to you blah blah blah. Really got my back up and fuelled my desire to see this through! My claim is now with the courts using the Trinity Road address. Do I have to now send the bank a letter saying what I'm doing with a another list of charges and interest? Or do I just leave it for the court to in form them?
  5. Cheers Dazza, I'll keep you posted on my progress.
  6. Here we are at the time that I need to start court action against the Bank of Scotland. Could someone please confirm that I can use th moneyclaim website listed in the seven steps for court action in Scotland. And Confirm that when I split the charges into sections, they have to be under £750 after interest is added? Thanks for any help
  7. Alrighty, sent the initial request letter recorded delivery on Thursday 12th. Received a letter today from the complaints department, signed by a Peter Barry, stating that my complaint will be investigated by a customer relations manager and they will get back to me within four weeks!! Eh I don't think so Pete! The letter before action is ready to be sent next Thursday, directly to the big man!! I'm begining to enjoy this!
  8. Cheers for that. I'm going after them for £3446 in charges with another £528.22 in interest to follow. Can't beleive how much it is they've *****from me!
  9. Okay so I have all the statements in and have put all the charges into the table provided by this site. In my first letter requesting reimbursment do I put just the total of the charges or do I include the calculated interest also? Any advice much appreciated.
  10. A slightly more heartening story on HBOS. Sent the letter and cheque for the statements on the 30/08. Got a phone call on the 01/09 from the customer services department telling me my statements would be sent out free of charge within 5 working days. They had not arrived on the 8th when I left for holidays, but when I arrived home yestersday, all the statments in their entireity were on my doormat. I just about fell over in shock that none were missing!!
  11. This is progressing a lot quicker than anticipated!! I sent the initial request for data letter two days ago by recorded delivery to the Rosyth customer services address, along with my £10 cheque. I got a phone call this morning from Sharon at the bank of Scotland saying she would send out a complete list of all charges against me, whilst returning my cheque, within 5 working days!! They can try and butter me up but I will hound those buggers til the end!
  12. Just away to start against the bank of Scotland. Not sure which address to request my previous statements from. I found a data protection address for the Mound in Edinburgh, but there was a suggestion that by applying to an office in England you can reclaim all at once, rather than having to make multiple small claims in Scottish courts. Any truth in this? Or does anyone have a more effective address to send the letter to? Bring on th bad guys!
  13. Alright Heimdalls, could you tell me which address you sent your data protection request to please? Just away to start proceedings myself and would prefer to try and do it through the english courts. Cheers
  14. Hi! Just want to say hello to all. I'm hoping this website will help me with my many bank charges. Always thought they were crooks!
