  1. sent 2 letters the same, 1 to my local branch and 1 to head office at borehamwood! both sent at the same time and same letter!
  2. sorry! yep i sent 2 letters the same time, asking for the money back, the 1st reply i got was that they thought there charges were fair and that i agreed to them when i sign up to the account and no refund was given, but then a few days later i had a reply to the secon letter i sent, saying that they were looking in to my account and would let me know after 2 weeks! Today i get the letter offering the refund!
  3. I just had a letter this morning offering a part refund of all most the full amount, only a couple of hundred less that the full asking price! im not sure if i should just accept this? im guessing not looking around the forum! What are the next steps, if i want to keep going to get the full amount refunded? Thanks for all the previouse help, and with out this site i would be a lot worse off!
  4. cheers for that all seems to make sence now, may give the intrest bit a miss as it will take ages to work out!
  5. hello every one! going to make a claim, i have got my 4 yrs of statments from when i 1st opend my bank and have made a list of all the charges! a total of £1126 !!! Im not sure about the 8% apr thing, do i add this to my table in excel when i send the letter to them or just leave the table as is with all the charges listed with dates ect? also to calculate the % im using =(C5*0.00022)*D5 or (charge amount X 0.00022)x no of days as from one of the demo excels on this site? from this quote " If you send the bank a letter before you have given them time to pay up demanding 8% APR they will know that you do not know what you are doing and this will more than likely end up with you NOT getting your money back. " i should not send the extra information of the 8% APR? Also on the cover letter the amount 1 and 2 space for the cost im not sure on what to put for: "I calculate that you have taken £1126 plus £amount 1 which you have charged me in overdraft interest for the sum which you have taken. Total £amount 2 . I enclose a schedule of the charges which I am claiming with this letter" would the 2nd amount be for the total APR? which would be for me £170.61 and then amount 2 would be £1126 + 170.61???? or is it the amount they have taken each month in intrest on my hole account? but as i have a overdraft which i normaly use arnt they entitled to charge me the money as its not the charges causing the intrest? or how would i work out the % of the charge that is causing the intrest that i am paying? cheers if you can help and make any sence from that! LOL
