  1. I’ve read lots of these threads and I can’t recall that I’ve ever seen this specific communication. I understand what you’re saying but I don’t know why they would advertise that (legally obliged to?) since they spend most of their time trying to put the wind up people, especially since it’s all part of the same operation. Why not just keep people on their toes and keep them guessing?
  2. Hello there, just received a letter from Drydens informing me that the account is closed with themselves and that any further communication should be with Erudio. I can’t think why.
  3. Thank you. I understand that and have seen it said many times, and since gratefully taking sound advice here have never communicated with them unless necessary. I guess it was more whether requesting the documentation was useful to me going forward, rather than simply giving them a hoop to jump through. But will ignore.

  5. Hi guys, letter from Drydens Fairfax following response to PAPLOC and request for documentation back in March. They want me to register with their customer portal to view and download the documents, available for next month. Is this unwise in any way? Should I be requesting paper copies via post? Can’t think that this has come up in any other posts or am I being overly cautious? thanks
  6. Just thought I should update, although nothing major. Responded end of March to PAPLOC sent by Dryden and CCA request to Erudio. Drydens wrote a couple of weeks later to say that account has been placed on temporary hold. No response by Erudio to CCA request but early May they sent three separate notices of sums in arrears (one for each loan) where they appear to have ‘refunded’ the postal order as credit.
  7. Thank you. So I dispute this debt because..recommended reason as advised from your thread and add the debt purchaser has yet to provide any or all of the required documentation. I.E no reason. All I’m doing is asking for extra documentation
  8. So default statement is just “debt purchaser is yet to provide….” A few posts back I suggested those as my reasons to dispute and you said sounds fine. Sorry, I want to get it right and I’m not finding it clear

Evening, draft of dispute: Please be advised that I dispute the alleged debt (original Account No. xxxxxxxxxxxxx), including any alleged arrears, for the reasons detailed below: Having for nineteen years already legitimately deferred repayments on three student loans taken out with the Student Loans Company between 1998 and 2000, a deferment form was completed and forwarded to Erudio as usual, accompanied by details of income, in October 2020. This was not processed for whatever reason. A copy was resent to Erudio, which they received on 15/02/21, but also received no response. My income remains, as Erudio are aware, substantially below the threshold, as per my original agreement with the Student Loans Company, whereby repayments become due. The debt purchaser (Erudio) has yet to provide any or all of the required documentation.

  15. I assume they do have original agreements. I haven’t received a PAP and am, by my calculations four years away from being SB. I have no plans to offer a settlement or set up a payment plan.
  16. For the record, almost two years after being informed account terminated by Erudio, it’s been passed to Capquest (I realise that essentially means shifted to another office). Letter by post and a text message, both yesterday. To recap, the last thing I sent was a deferral form in Feb 21, backdated to Oct 20, which they ignored, and have always earned well under the threshold so have never made any repayments in 22 years. Assume it’s right to block number and ignore everything until a letter of claim.
  17. Hi there, just wanted to update this thread. Eight months since initially told account has terminated and no contact except for three automated statements. No threats or demands, so that’s good. I’m at the point in the year when I would’ve ordinarily deferred. I expect you’ll say it would be a daft idea, since it would set back any potential future SB status, but just checking you don’t think there’s any merit in sending another old SLC form, or doing anything else at this stage besides what I’ve been doing which is to sit quietly. I must say I expected them to start hassling me.
  18. Just for the record: no acknowledgement by Erudio of deferment on SLC form sent and received by them recorded delivery six weeks ago. Now three separate statements of arrears arrived by post today for each of my three loans. Amounts as was when informed they’d terminated my account in January. Guess I’ll just ignore.
  19. Thank you. I think I’ll write telling them I don’t accept or acknowledge, ask for my original signed agreements and put in a backdated SLC deferment. And see what happens. Will carry on reading and ask questions if necessary if that’s ok x

Yes, well about four months late I think (in a lockdown, in a pandemic, not that that should bother them) but no, arrears now are since beginning of October ‘20 I think - about £500 Questions: are they within their rights to terminate? Guess it looks like they are but... what are rules and protocols surrounding this and have they been followed? Can they refuse an attempt to backdate deferral? Can they produce evidence of my original signed agreements? will they ever attempt to put through a CCJ for this? They know apart from anything that I am on universal credit so even after this would only I assume get a pretty measly monthly payment off me) Sorry I realise you say you think it unlikely to go anywhere in court
  21. My time to defer was usually September october. Most recent one (2020) was the one late/missed/overlooked, Last one they received from me, completed online, would’ve been October 19
