  1. Just in case you are wondering, that was me, Baldylocks, but looks like my other half had logged herself on before me!!
  2. Sorry about the delay in posting, have been away... but.. The Judge has struck out the claim !! Apparently there was a hearing at the end of August, which neither party attended - I didn't as all my correspondece from the court was going to the Claimant's solicitors, but the Judge decided that as Hegarty's had failed to supply the paperwork by the date he had given, he struck out the case!!! This is just such excellent news, and I want to thank everyone so much for all of their help and advice here. I would never have had either the knowledge or courage to fight the claim if I hadn't got all the support from everyone on this forum. I know this might not be the end of things- I assume they can try again? Then there is the small matter of my reclaiming some of my costs - on which note, if anyone can offer any useful threads for me to read up on, please feel free... Once again I want to say thank you for all your hard work that enabled me to take this on.
  3. Good morning all Have got myself in a bit of a pickle. I am currently claiming against Abbey - just waiting for the allocation questionnaire to arrive, but I also had acounts with First Direct and a Capital One which I know I had some charges added onto. BUT...It was several years ago, I have moved several times and I have lost all the paperwork. My big question is...Can I still claim these charges without knowing my account numbers? I can provide the address which I was at when I opened the accounts - is this enough? Any advice gratefully received
  4. Thanks for your advice think I just needed that bit of encouragement, and will be creating my own thread now!
  5. Similar scenario with abbey claim for £3.5K. Had goodwill payment of £140 paid in AFTER I'd closed the account! Subsequently got cheque as clearance of funds (which remains uncashed), they've now offered £2.3K as final payment, about 65%, subject to any goodwill payments. Original letter regarding this payment offered £x as the amount so it was only after I phoned abbey I knew what it was! Not sure now whether to proceed or take the 65%....any advice out there?
