  1. HI , i have been through the whole process of statements , lba etc . I now at the process of court action . Its been served and they have aknowledged it yesterday giving them till 6th dec to submit there defence etc if thats the route they want to choose. Today i get a letter serving me default notice on the account and asking to to pay back the amount i had gone over my agreed overfraft of £1500 by £177 ( all in charges by them)in next 5 days . now when the halfax finally pay up the £3556 i have claimed will it go into that account? scared i wont be able to get my hands on it . After reading the posts i know there is no way of knowing when they will pay up . some times they say they will defend other times they just pay up . any advice appreciated .
  2. I have sent off my LPA today to the unhelpful halifax after following the guide lines. I have received two letters from them offering me £60 each time and stating £120 in total. Both times i accepted it but not as full and final payment . But neither the amounts have ever been paid to me . Has any one esle had this ?
  3. Hi , Halifax are useless. the goodwill gesture i had on claiming £2500 back was a mere £60 and telling me they would and no time refund the full amount and that there would be no more communication on the matter. I accepted but not as full and final payment and made it clear i was carrying on my quest to have the full amount refunded. the second letter offered a further £60 giving me £120 in total. You can guess my reply and i am now preparing my LBA and adding on charges i have incured recently.
  4. i have been in my rented property for 3 years. i knew from the start that in 2007 there plans to knock it down and develope the land. my landlords ( theres two of them) have many propertys and always promised they would let me have one of there other homes if one came up. they have just finished building 2 propertys to let out ( lovely nice shiny new house with windows that shut and central heating that works) i have a lodger that the landords have no problem with. he was going to stay on and i was moving to the new house. he has now decided to move on himself to a flat he has sorted. i have one landlord saying its ok i still can have the new house but the other one has decided he doesnt want my house left empty till its nocked down next year and refuses to give me a moving date . i had put aside holiday for the move that has been promised will be any week since end of march. now i have missed out as other peoples holiday is booked up till the end of the year. i have also learnt that because of the location of my proerty that planning would probably never let any thing happen to it . what do i do? any advise please.
  5. Since asking for my statements and workingout my charges they have wacked on a load more charges. Im due to send out my LBA on friday , am i able to add these on if so at what point can i add them on ?
  6. ah bless - you can have mine if it makes you feel better . there seems no real pattern with halifax - some claim just over 2000 and get offered a couple hundred . others claim more and get offered even less. letters are always slightly different and peoples time scales differ too. show one thing they not got wise enough to set up a department for this stuff . im getting my LBA ready and starting to get scared at the thought of it all
  7. thankyou , i will do that on friday and await there next silly letter
  8. HAd a letter back offering me a further 60 making it 120 . and saying that they would not consider at any time refunding the claimed total of 2534.00. now i know to reply with saying cheers for the refund but not as total claim and matter closed. but when do i send out the LBA letter - i first wrote to them requesting the money and giving them 14days on the 13th July. Do i count from day i sent it. day they signed for it ? im guessing these letters they are sending try to stall you and they think they you will start counting 14 days from then. help please
  9. Replied as you advised . I wait to hear what they say . Interesting though that have just started ringing me to check everything ok . a first in 25 years with them .
  10. I have sent my letter from the stationary library politly asking for my charges back that come to about 2500 . had a letter back today saying the normal and offering me £60 as good will . but they finish off the letter with "Given the conduct of the account no further refunds will be given " anyone else had this? they refering to the fact i live in my 1500 overdraft , but if they had not taken the unfair charges then i wouldnt be living in the damn thing would i! is there a template for replying to this letter and what do i say ? even i know 60 is hardly fair let alone goodwill for 25 years with the same bank . help please
  11. so am i . i have been looking to see if some one has had a example of one of these thingys filled in but im not getting very far . i keep going off and reading another thread and loose track of where i am . very frustrating . could a kind soul show us an example with sample info in it so us two confused peeps can stop scratching our heads please
  12. i have 2 accounts with halifax and have requested the two lots of statements. now im trying to fill in the excel sheet . do i keep the two accounts seperate ? treat them as seperate claims or as it with the same bank and even same branch does it get lumped into together ?
  13. i have the same query too . On the fantastic speedsheet in the stationery bit i got confused if i just list the interest bit in date order thus having two lists or do i somhow put it in a time line so that it corresponds to the charge list . That would mean quite few gaps in my case in the right hand columb. Having just received my list of charges from the bank very quickly im all keen and eger to get it started but oh so scared.
  14. i agree that even 12 is a tad over the top especially as my bank dont even have to post anything and mine is all done on the internet . 12 just for someone to press a button ! im in the wrong job
  15. I been thinking on this , can someone explian it to me . Say the bank charges me £30 for paying something instead of not paying a cheque etc , the bank ombudsmen say anything over £12 is not fair . So when clocking up charges from the bank and requesting repayment do i ask for the difference or the full £30 .
  16. Thank you . But one last query whats the template called that i work out my charges on please? There so much usefull stuff on here i must be looking at it and not realising .
  17. Now i know im new but i keep getting myself so lost on the site . I have sent off letter from the template section request list of all my charges . Now when i get that lot back where and in what format do i send back my request ? Cant seem to figure out which template to use or if its just a case of listing the charges in an excel sheet myslef and which letter goes with it . though best to ask instead of presuming and getting it wrong . Thanks
