  1. Hello, and wonder if anyone can help? We have a business and were with the Clydesdale but, decided to change our account to the RBS (they appeared more flexible with us buying property abroad). For the "honour" of them having us as customers they charged us over £6000 in fees. The only reason we went along with this was that they were offering us a lower interest rate at the time. This meant we would actually be saving money over the years ( we thought!). I can't even remember what all the fees were for now.....but I was wondering if we would be able to claim these back???? If so, where do I start???? Have had a look at some links re business but it doesn't seem to answer my questions. All thoughts appreciated, Carol
  2. Hooray!!!! Was due to go to court tomorrow but called the bank today. The have paid the amount owed to me into my account within 30 mins!!! I had claimed back for 6 years but they told me in Scotland it was only for 5 years.....didn't get as much as I had initially thought but am more than happy now. How do I make my donation to the site? Thanks for everyones help. Carol

  7. I had filed my claim against the Bank of Scotland and was due at court on the 17th Jan. I was in America and due home prior to that date, however I had to delay my flight for one week due to illness. I was not then able to attend the court date (I had actually thought the date was later in Jan...). When eventually I did get home and open my mail (I had been away for a total of 6 weeks) I had a letter dated late December from the bank offering me £580 (my claim is for £1350). By the time I had actually been able to read the letter the amount had been paid into my bank account. I thought, since I had missed the court date and that the money had been paid into my account that my case was over and I would have to settle to the amount given by the BofS. Today I have received a "Minute for recall of decree" from the B of S. It states on it that THEY had also missed the court date due to "an oversight on the part of the Defenders' Legal Services Division who failed to lodge the from of response by the return day" What should I do about this??? To make matters worse, since I had been quite ill on returning home, and I had thought the case was closed, I have destroyed all documentation leading up to this point........... I am now in a panic and wish I hadn't started in the first place. Would love some advice/info please Thanks Carol

Spent most of yesterday trying to complete forms - lots of problems with my printer etc., finally get the printer going and went to add the interest to my spreadsheet and can't work out what to do!!!! 15. I have completed my court papers now and raring to go.....only problem I now have is when I saved my schedule of charges I didn't include the interest. I now want to add on the 8% but can't work out how to do this without starting from scratch with a new form I am sure I should be able to add in the interest onto my existing saved form but can't work out what to do......can anyone help? I have been driving myself about crazy this afternoon trying to fill in the correct court papers, then my printer ran out of ink, then the paper jammed and now I can't work out what to do about the spreadsheet. Is it more bother than it's worth:?: Need to go and have some more chocolate.......... thanks Carol

  17. Dear All, Have just received a letter from BOS. Part of which states "As a gesture of goodwill I offered to reund you £355.00 of charges to your account, which you do not wish to accept" He did offer this on the 'phone and I said I would accept it as part payment and continue to claim for the rest. It then goes on to say "We are not prepared to refund all the charges that you have incurred on your account" Should I have just accepted the £355? I am actually claiming for £987. I had actually already posted my LBA giving them a further 14 days or I would complete the court papers - am I on the right track or should I just give up?? Many thanks Carol
  18. Have had another 'phone call from BOS now offering me £340. Said that I would take it as partial payment but that I will continue with my claim for full amount. Have completed the letter before action and am going to send them another copy of my spreadsheet - do I include the interest yet? Does anyone have a link on how to complete court papers in Scotland? Thanks, Carol
  19. Have sent the first letter asking for statements. Received statements and worked out how much they had charged me. Sent letter with spreadsheet asking for money. Then had 'phone call on Friday offering me £138. Do I now 'phone them back and try to discuss my claim with them or do I go on and go down the court route? If so - how? Just had a lovely big Sunday dinner and am feeling recharged and ready to go!! Thanks for any advice, Carol
