  1. Update, i have spoken to the council and the letters all went to a previos address where my son lived and his car was registered to. They said he should have had his post forwarded, which yes he should have done, but as a 20 year old, he probably didnt realise. This still doesnt help with the letter that came four weeks after the postal date from equita, and cost me an extra £280 pounds. Post office form wants time of posting, where was it posted, how am i suppost to find that out?
  2. my son is responsible for the debt.and the car is registered at my address, but my son doesn't live at home anymore. The car is registered to my address however the council have confirmed that the letters went elsewhere and not to the registered address. They wont tell me as yet where the letter had been sent because of data protection, but I am awaiting someone to call me back with a response. my points are as follows how can you pay for something you know nothing about, how can it take 4 weeks for a letter to arrive.
  3. Hi im a newbie and after some advice. had the bailiffs round for an unpaid parking ticket, had received no letters etc from council or anything, was told to pay £412.50 to get the clamp off and deal with the matter after. We needed the car for work so paid the money. The car is registered to my son but at our address and he doesnt live at home and the car is insured and maintained by us. the bailiff came on the 20th July and have just received a letter from Equita dated 5th July saying to pay the £100 + so it doesnt go to court, 4 weeks after the posted date. Contacted the council who said the letters went elsewhere? contacted Equita as to why it took 4 weeks to get the letter? Contacted the post office for a claim form, have I missed anything is my question.
