So am I better claiming as a couple? Will I get a jail term regarding this? I am worried sick with all this. Feel like a criminal. I tried to do everything right but i just cant afford to move out, and live as a single mum it;s just not an option at the moment.

I think the problem I have is he pays the bills and I have nothing except my bank acct and sky bills to show what I pay. Any advise from a professional or someone who has been in the situation please?

He bought the house for the intention of him living here a month on and moth off so that he had a base for the kids. But due to the situation i found myself In i moved in and he stays when he's back home. but not every night and not in the same room.

Hi all, Hoping someone can advise. I am claiming tax credits for myself and 3 children. Up till April 2015 I was single separated from my husband but still married. I lived in my own rented house, In April 2015 my landlord gave me a notice to quit and I couldn't get another property as I wasn't earning enough and they didn't take hb. My husband had just bought a house in his own name. he decided to let me and the kids stay there as he off shore most the time anyway. I called tax credit's to say that my husband would be using this as his postal address and staying here occasionally but in a separate bed. They advised as I am single it should be fine. All ok till today when I receive a letter to say they have information that another adult is connected to this address and they would like more information. they want proof that we live separately. Now I pay now bills except the sky and phone/internet and have my own bank account can provide them with no issues. But what else can I give? Shall i provide the mortgage statement that's not in my name? what else. Am i gonna get prosecuted as everything i read says its illegal to claim this way but Financially i have no choice. I am on very good terms with my husband and had no reason to file for a divorce and if i am honest would like to work it out one day but that's another story. I am so scared I am gonna go to jail and lose my children. please help what should I do? will I go to jail? Please dont judge me I just need some advice please.

hello i will try be clear but please ask any questions to help me along the way this morning i have recieved a letter saying the following. Yout tax credits award 5th april 2012 every year we check thousands of tax credit claims to make sure that we are : > paying the right amount of tax credits based on customers income and circumstances. > running the tax credits system fairly and efficently thankyou for renewing your tax credit. before we can work out your payments for this tax year and decide your final entitlment last year, we need to check the information you have given us is right. what we need you to do Please let us have the information we asked for below for the period 6th april 2011 to date by 13th july unless stated otherwise. your P60 (which i do have, ) Your payslips (I have my last one all the others i think i binned.) contracts of employments for all jobs ( I work online so only have this via email format) any offical contact of childcare (which i dnt have as my daughter not been there for the past two years and seems i didnt inform em looking back at past claims my fault i would say) all recipets and invoices for said childcare. there registration number (they are now closed gone bankrupt after the owner was done for fraud) are vouchers or goverment support used to pay towards the cost of childcare? if yes how much is actually paid by you? says when i have finished my checks i will write to tell you we have made a descion on your claim and send your documents back to yu. now looking through my claims i have not updated my childcare to none. have not updated my work to my new employer and my wages thay have are more than they have. so what do i do from here? as i have no childcare and have clearly been paid for it.......stupid fault for not checking this up. do i send my P 60 with a covering letter that i hav had no childcare and that i didnt update this for the past two years? i am lost do i send what i have and own up or do i leave it and see what happens? yes i have been greedy and yes i suppose its fraud and i am very sorry for this what can i do to get out of this mess i am so worried feel sick and shaky. please can someone advise.
