  1. Hi Robert, I can understand how much stress this brings in when we do not get necessary information we need from Orange. I am also also in the similar situation now, i had a bill of £496 last August because some applications in Samsung S2 automatically downloaded the data even in the small hours of the day. I would not be awake even at the time. I received a debt collection letter from BCW. I requested many times for a dead lock letter and i never got one. I finally received the data usage details after 7 months but with the information i wanted. Details show the data is downloaded in the early morning when i would have been in deep sleep. It appears to me there is no legislation to protect the consumer on this mobile data usage. I am not sure how Ombudsman did the ruling on Orange's favour. A consumer must know what they are paying for? In this case for mobile data usage, we would never know what site the data is downloaded from. It would be intersting to see the reasons for for the ruling in Orange's favour because i have just registered a complaint with CISAS. I am planning to see Citizens Advice Beureau to find out the legal options i have. I also have added complication that Business name (ltd company) the phone was contracted through is closed and the direct debit changed to my personal account. But BCW does not listen to any of this. They only have one thing in their mind, money. Orange does not seem to care about the customer service and they are certainly not ready to listen to the customer point. I would happily settle the bill if they prove that i used it, but they are not able to provide me the details of the mobile data usage on how i used the data. Now that this amount went up to £528, eventually it goes in to my credit file. This will become another problem. But surely, they can not update the credit file with out the justification to Experian or Equifax. I have had this orange contract for nearly 6 years with out any issue. Orange Customer Service does not care how good you have been with them with prompt payment of the invoices. Certainly there is a loop hole in the legislation in Orange's favour. But i am not going to give in to Orange. Good luck to you. Thanks Mabu
  2. Thanks for your reply. But my policy is not from swift cover. I have concerns with Privilege Insurance and not swiftcover.
  3. Thank you for your reply. In my case, Privilige Insurance issued only 3 years NCB and this will be the basis on which other insurance companies will quote me. Recent renewal quote has 3 years NCB but previous renewal quote has 8 years NCB. I checked with Admiral and they say they would only consider the recent NCB, in this case it is 3 years. Did your new insurance provider consider the old NCB or new NCB?
  4. This thread is very useful to me. I am also in the similar situation but this time it is from Privilege Insurance. I had 9 years NCB and i had a minor accident in july 2011, now Privilege sent me renewal quote only with 3 years NCM and i am furious. I did not know to protect these NCBs, so i did not take it. But i found out from other insurance companies that they will only deduct 2 years if you have an accident. I ended up with 3 years NCB instead of 7 years just because i have been a loyal customer to Previlige for the last 5-6 years. I did not know that this will be the case, no one detaiiled this to me in any of the renewals. So all that i have built up these years is now lost. Why is this different from different insurers. If this is the case this should be clearly mentioned in the renewal quote. Can any one please advise me to come out of this situation. To maintain my no original NCB, i need to pay repair cost for the other car £1350, i would then be able to have clean history. But that is a too much amount to pay .. Thanks in advance for any help. i would certainly advise if you have more than 5 years, you either protect but certainly do not take Previlige policy. I spoke to Loyality dept and no one seems to help me. I could not successfully claim any damage even if it is not my fault. But this time i hit some one at the back (arguably not my fault), Previlige easily gave the money away to some one else. Where as i could not get this when some one hit my parked vehicle. It seems Previlige appear to favour the takes but not its own customers.
