Please don't panic they will not take your children or put you in prison. My best advice to you and one I followed myself is to ring them and be entirely honest with them. They are actually very nice people. I am having to repay mine after sending in my earnings etc. I thoroughly regret lying to them but I can honestly say the relief I feel now after being honest and not worrying about the knock at the door is amazing. Call them.

Hi, please i cant stress enough do not panic, you will not get a criminal record! I have just been in a similar situatuion but mine was for a single/joint claim. I too recevied a letter and had a week of sleepless nights and feeling sick and soooo ill. Anyway i could take it no longer and bit the bullet and rang them and it was an instant relief! Please call them and just explain what i say here about maternity etc. All they will do is either agree or disagree if they disagree they will work out your overpayment and maybe impose a penalty depending on the amount of the overpayment. Then they will take a certain amount from your future awards to pay back the over payment. Please dont stress just call them i promise you will feel instant relief!

Basically i have read a few threads am i right in thinking this is what i need to do:- 1) cancel direct debit to ftc 2) ask for statements from capital one including £10 fee, they have 40 days, then claim back charges using one of the templates? 3) ask for proof from capone that they have passed debt to FTC?

u have cheered me up, barbados it is lol!! i have started a thread in the other place also. I gave them no other card details so they shoulsdnt be able to take any card payments off hopefully. Im going to keep an eye and as soon as i see the direct debit set up i am going to cancel it!

Basically i fell behind with my Capital One card, i tried making token payments but by the time the kept adding charges on it wasnt worth it! my credit limit is only 200 and i now owe 450!!! Well i now have a company called FTC chasing me for this debt which they said i can pay at 20 per month, but how do i actually know that this company now has my capital one debt?? I did not pay a deposit with Capital One.

As far as i recall i have recevied no letter from captial one regarding transferring this debt but to be honest i ended up just chucking the letter without opening . Capital one no longer call me but FTC now do, eventually i answered as i couldnt take the harrasment any longer and confirmed who i was and said i would pay £20 per month, gave me account details and that was it, should i cancel the direct debit once is it set up? I did not pay a £200 deposit on the card. I have not claimed any charges back as i thought that they were allowed to charge £12 per missed payment/late payment etc? im so confused!!

Hiya yes that's what they advised as he makes a relevant contribution to the household by paying all the bills etc. I do feel it's slightly bad of them though because sometimes for financial reasons ex's have to stay living with each other but lead completely seperate lives but it seems by trying to keep a roof over my kids heads it's wrong, if he didn't sleep here it would b ok but even tho we share a bed thats all we do if u know what I mean! I'm glad it's all sorted now tho massive relief but I'm now gonna sort out my homelife partner issues too he can shape up or ship out! Hope u get urs sorted xxxx

just a quick update, i could put it off no longer, and this morning i called them. and can i just say that i feel so much better and am looking forward to a good night sleep today. he was so nice i couldnt believe he said that as i have confessed they no longer are going to investigate i do not need to send any bills etc basically they are going to work out my overpayment and take it back out of my future joint claim award. i have def learnt my lesson and am so glad i that i called them the relief is indescribable!

yeah thats a good idea, its just im suffering so much from lack of sleep and constantly feeling sick and upset that i thought if i called it would least help me know one way or another what would happen

hi, new to this hoping someone can help! basically i live with my partner but mainly just for the kids we dont get on well at all. we have seperate account he has his wages i have mine. he pays the bills etc and i pay my own car insurance etc etc. i have claimed that he does not live there for past 18 months as i cannot survive on my money alone and he will not have a joint account. he earns a very good wage and didnt want to give any of it up! i have recevied a letter from the compliance team saying they r enquirying for 2010 -2011 and they want rent contract, council tax bill, phone bills, basically all bills as well as bank statements. to say i have been a wreck is an understatement im petrified im going to prison. i cant stop crying. I am in the process of collecting all the bills etc but am wondering if i should just call them to confess or try and say he doesnt live there, please help me. i cant sleep or anything. the compliance officer is calle m cantello has anyone spoke to him, if so is he nice?
