yeah know what you mean !! its a little weight of my mind, but i think until i have a clear year i will be stress free !!! i stil got the joy of renewing next year and the fear of them asking again !!! haha 2013 roll on take care too !

yeah and its the kids that cause all this hassle too !!!! if it werent for them we wouldnt need the tax credits !!!!mmmm they have alot to answer for !!!Lol keep us updated re what happens with your overpayment, i be interested to know the outcome just in case this all comes back to bite me on the a*** !!!!!

well i will prob still panic as havent given correct date but i feel happy knowing that I can claim my housing benefit back now and fingers crossed by christmas i will be financially back to normal !!!! i say financially as doubt i would ever be normal !! lol my sister started work last week and her tax credits sorted within 3 days so hoping them taking childcare off will be just as quick !!!!

Hi all, had no laptop for a while !! wow back of beyond you must be going crazy with all thats happening with your claim !!!! i rang them yesterday and just asked them to remove childcare from my claim ( only from now tho !!!!) i was too scared to be totally honest so i am going to see what happens now !!! i am not worrying about it all now have decieded whats done is done, its 50-50 on whos fault it was but i have been left totally out of pocket by about 150-200 quid a month so i havent gained anything from any of this mess !!!!!! roll on next year when its all straight forward ! ( i hope !)

Hi , received my tax credit payment as normal today and when i got home from work I had my tax credit renewal back FINALLY !!!! renewed on 10th June, never before has it taken this long.........!

home from work and still nothing !!! think i will get the next payment out the way and then call them ! ( well i will probably call before then as i dont want any nasty surprises next weds when i find i have no money !!!)

i am now off to work and hoping there is something when i get home today !!!

give them a call now that they are open, I'm sure they won't fine you if they can see you always renew on time.... keep us updated on how you get on x

is there any reason why your claim might have been stopped other than not renewing ??? i thought they would inform you before just stopping it !!!!!!! im keeping everything crossed mine is there next week now !!!! I may call them Monday to make sure !!!

Yes still receiving it, although I wish i had just told them last year as I lost my housing benefit too ! I was getting around 40quid a week off my rent ( rent is 92) but now I am paying full rent and an overpayment for housing benefit too !!!! I was just too scared to tell them he didnt go to ofsted registered playscheme, and then I couldnt argue with housing benefit for the same reason !! so now my 650quid wages pays my rent and overpayment to housing benefit !!! My next payment is due on the 24th, boys birthday is 30th !!! last month we went away on the 23rd and I called up just to make sure it was all ok.!! Its good to know they wont stop them though, just hope I get something from them this week !! If i dont hear anything and I receive my payment ok I might phone them..... the childcare provider that they may be contacting are useless at replying to anyone ! took me 2 months to get an answer about summer club last year !!!! i was thinking of saying I got my renewal documents out to call you as it has been so long and i have just noticed the childcare element doesnt say for summer holidays only, does this mean I am still being paid for them ??

will you still get your money while they review it ??? I get mine monthly and this month I need to pay for my boys birthday party !! thats all im worrying about at the moment is not getting it !!! last month i was worried as it was our holiday money !!!! spend my life worrying !!!!

backofbeyond..... my circumstances are very similar to yours. For the first time ever I applied for childcare for last summer holidays, I rang them and told them that it was for the 6 weeks only. The bloke on the phone must have been new as it took ages for him to take details and I was put on hold loads of times ! But he told me that it would automatically stop at end of 6 weeks. My first payment was 760 then it went down to 560. My nan has always had my little boy but she started intensive chemo and couldnt last year. then the day before the summer club was due to start they cancelled on me. I was in bits trying to find somewhere else and I did but although the cost was the same it wasn't ofsted registered. In a complete state Ii just thought for 6 weeks it wont hurt surely !!! I couldnt afford to pay it without the help to be honest...... It wasnt until the November when i had letter from housing benefit stopping my payments due to increase in tax credits that I realised they must still be paying childcare.... by which time i was too scared to tell them so thought I would wait til it renewed then tell them I no longer needed it !!! Like you I have been living on edge knowing it would come back to bite me, but at the time I just didn't know what to do !!!! If I get the same kind of letter, i think that I will call them and just say I have had no childcare since last summer and you was aware of this and just accept my mistake !!! I think the wording ''review'' is better than investigating... review surely means that they are going to readjust the payments for the over payment ?? ( or am i clutching at straws again ??)!!!! I read a post where someone claimed 7grand and was just asked to pay back small amount through deductions, mine is no where near that amount, so my worry is a little less now !!!! how long are you away on holiday for ??? I bet your right as to why taken so long to get back to you !!!

( i still havent told them mine has stopped !!) by reading through some other threads on here, it seems that we are not the only ones re overpayments for childcare ! I still have not heard anything !! although from reading your post, im expecting the same sort of letter !! i was hoping that because it had been so long that surely if they were investigating I would have heard by now but seems not !!!!

oh sorry i must have read yours wrong, i thought it was june too !!! think i am just clutching at straws as to why its taking so long !!!!! i dont think i would be half as worried had the bloke on the phone not said call back if you havent heard by the 24th June !!!! fingers crossed that this week is our week and we finally get some news !!!!!

Still nothing for me either, no post at all today !!! My money is paid monthly and I really need this months as its my boys birthday and he has a party that wont pay for itself !!! hi, its good to know that I am not the only one...! and glad that you have it all sorted, i just want it sorted too, the worry of not knowing anything is doing my head in, I have still not heard anything after 10 weeks since I renewed, although I would have thought I would have heard something, even if its just a letter saying its being investigated and they want more information from me..... !!!

That is the first thing I am going to do once i have received it !!! Then I can reclaim housing benefit, I used to get half my rent paid now I am paying full rent !!! I just want it all sorted and then get back to plodding along as i used to !!!! its so hard with tax credits as you have to do everythign over the phone or in writing !! i wish i could see someone to explain it all !!!!! I keep saying to myself no news is good news !!!! my sister says I am worrying over nothing too but as my renewal is usually done in a couple of weeks to wait months is doing my head in now !!!!! So glad i found this site, reading some of the other stories has put my mind at rest a bit !! least i know i will have some money coming in still, i had visions of me working 2 or 3 jobs just to survive !!!

thank you so much !!! i have driven my sister mad keep calling her about it !!! I have never done anything wrong and always worked since he was born and now I am close to losing it i swear !!! I have had no contact with them at all. I done my renewal on June 10th and since then heard nothing, I have called 3 times and just been told it is on the system and being processed, im too worried to call again in case they think i must be hiding something, which I am ! But also as i am already paying back housing benefit i am not sure how i would cope with another overpayment !

Well its quite a long story ! It turns out it hasnt automatically stopped !!!!!!!!!!!! and i am too scared to tell them, i thought i would renew then call and say something !!! but now the renewal is taking so long i dont htink i have slept in 9 weeks !!! i know i am partly to blame, but I havent financially gained as I was getting housing benefit and they stopped that due to increase in tax credits and i am paying them back 50 pound a month! originally i thought that the reason the money dropped down in sept last year as they had removed the childcare element and readjusted the amount til the end of the year !!!!! just dont know what to do !!! i have phoned but not been told its being investigated just being processed and I have seen other threads saying they have been asked for childcare receipts or been told its being checked !!!!! I dont really know how much longer i can carry on with this worry !!! Like the others on here I get home from work and open the door so quickly to check if postman has been !!!!!

Hi, i am new to this board so not sure if I am in the right place for advice ! last summer my little boy had to go into summer club as my nan who usually has him was having chemotherapy.... the summer club cancelled the day before it was due to start so I had to find alternative for him, which wasnt ofsted registered..... when i originally called tax credits i told them it was for the 6 weeks only and they said it would stop automatically after this time. the first payment was 726 then it went down to 540, I then received a letter from housing benefit sayin I had been overpaid and had to pay back 600 pound plus my full rent due to my tax credits increase. I thought that they had jsut readjusted the amount for the remaining year.... it now appears they have carried on paying the childcare.... I haven't told them as too scared, mainly as I didnt use the ofsted registered childcare, even though the one i had to send him to was the same cost !!! Now my renewal has taken 9weeks and still I haven't heard from them !!! does anyone know what is likely to happen ??? it is 50/50 on fault i think and also I haven't financially gained as what I have been given extra from tax credits I have lost in housing benefit !! I only work part time and I am worried that an overpayment will leave me struggling really badly that I will not be able to afford my rent !!! any advice greatly appreciated !!x
