I'm glad i'm not the only one having a problem with this.. I signed up origionally with next to see if I could check how much money was on my gift card. I thought that if I was to try and buy something with it, it would come up with the credit of the card before I bought it. Next thing I know "thank you for your purchases..." uh oh. Since then I've recieved the item, and taken it back to the shop, so I don't owe them anything. It's taken me ages to find out how to actually cancel my account in the first place, and I think it's ridiculas that you have to go through so many measures just to cancel your account. I am about to send them a letter (If I can ever find out what my account number is >>) and fingers crossed my account is closed soon, because I don't want stuff sent through to me at all. I only really put an account there in the first place by accident, not realizing i'd be bombarded with directories and whatever... I hate how they've made cancelling things so difficult..
