Oh ok, thank you again for your advice

I'm not sure, does it make a difference? I will find out when she gets back from her holiday next week.

Thank you so much for coming back to my post so quickly. She has just gone to Egypt and needed the car to get to the airport but it refused to start, the electrics had gone this time ! The garage rapidly arranged a hire car for her and have taken her car back in to the garage. I assume they are going to try to fix the many problems that keep cropping up ready for when she gets back next Tuesday. Unfortunately, as you can imagine, she has lost all faith and confidence in the car and now just wants shot of it. She bought it at the beginning of December and it has been back in to the garage 4 times. I get so cross when you try to get justice, they do not want to know and having taken out finance, seems to make the whole process more complicated. I will however pass on your advice as soon as she gets back next week and we can take it from there. Are they obliged to give a full refund under the SOGA? As far as I can see the car is not fit for purpose !!! Once again, many thanks for your advice. I will let you know what happens !

Hi, I would be interested to know how you got on with the garage and asking for a refund as my daughter has the same problem. She bought a car from a main dealer at the beginning of December and it has been back in to the garage 4 times already. She has lost all faith in the car and feels it is not fit for purpose. The cost of the car was over £7,000 and she put over £2,000 depost. Is she entitled to ask them to take the car back and give her back her money? The stress this has caused is horrid. Garages should not be allowed to make peoples lives a misery just because they bought a car from said garage. If you bought anything else and it was faulty you would take it back to the shop and get your money back. Why can't it be the same for a car?? Grrr... I am so frustrated for her and feel helpless that I can't do anything to put things right !
