  1. I don't have the photo card. It was lost along with the ticket! And i asked for a copy of details at the ticket office, and was greeted with the only way to get it, details of it, or anything related to it, was to pay the £20 for the replacement and wait 7 days. Personally, and what annoys me the most, is they could look themselves and see i have it. Even more so, the person at the train station could have verified with the ticket office she was standing next to that i do infactm own a season ticket. I was told QUOTE "You can get a replacement season ticket from the ticket office -points to ticket office-, and then send a copy of it to the address on the bottom of this caution -she hands me this warning thing-". Is what annoys me, as i said to her, is i go through daily to get to work, so im not going to 'escape it'. But simply instead of starting this bureaucratic process that she could let me/or she could speak to the ticket office and confirm. The stupidity of this really annoys me. Apart from the stress/annoyance for me, its costs them admin to chase me up, verify details etc etc. If she had common sense, surly she could give me the option to prove it with the ticket office, and avoid wasting time/expense of me and southern rail, rather than starting this stupid stupid stupid process.
  2. With regards to the USA - they will do a CRB check, although only 'Criminal Convictions' will come up in their search. At most, they may detain you on entry (as due to the Data Protection Act, the UK will tell them you have a Criminal Record, and a Serious Offence) and then contact the UK to confirm in detail what those offences are. Its unlikely they will refuse entry. I have a DUI from 3 years ago, and in the USA it comes up as a Serious Criminal Conviction (DUI goes in the same part of your criminal record as murder, ABH, GBH, possession of firearms etc). 1 in 4 visits to the US results in a 2 hour wait while they contact the UK to confirm im not a murderer etc, then I'm happily on my way. Hope that helps a little to comfort your travel concerns.
  3. Hi All, Hopefully someone could advise here. I've had a read but couldn't find anything similar. I boarded a train to work as normal today, from Worthing to Brighton, with a change at Hove. I think while changing at Hove i lost my season ticket. So when i get to Brighton, no ticket. I explained my situation, and was given the option to pay a penalty fare, (was more or less threatened with this) or the option to fill in a form that gave me 14 days to produce my season ticket. I took the latter option after arguing with them, as the first person i spoke to said i could walk over to the ticket desk and get my ticket reissued. I pointed out to the person i was dealing with that instead of giving me this bureaucratic form she could accompany me to the ticket desk to verify that i did have a valid season ticket. They refused, and handed me a tear off from a form that says i will give them a copy of my ticket in 14 days, or they will prosecute. This wouldn't be a big problem, however my ticket is only valid for 3 more days of travel, and they said i wont get it for at least 7 days, AND they want me to pay a £20 re-issue charge. Its cheaper for me to buy 3 tickets... So my problem is - i do/will not have a ticket to show them (as I refuse to pay the £20 and wait a week for a ticket that I cant use anyway). So i will get prosecuted. I don't understand why they cant check their own system and see i have a season ticket, without me having to send them a copy. They have only given me an address - Southern Prosecutions Department, and no contact number or email so i can explain to them that i wont be sending this and they'll have to check their own system, as I'm not paying out £20 for a ticket that will be invalid when I get it. Can anyone advise of who to contact in this situation, or what rights I have/next step to take? Should i just wait fort them to contact me with a prosecution? Will it stand even know their system shows I owned a valid season ticket for that journey? Can they prosecute me regardless of this? I realise i didn't have a ticket when passing the barriers, but this really is stupidly questionable bureaucracy as the person who issued me the notice could just as easily have checked with the ticket desk to find i did have a valid season ticket.
