  1. This reminded me of a situation with British Gas some years ago.. My Nan received a demanding letter from them, out of the blue, stating that my Nan owed them money and if she didn't pay up within 7 working days then legal action would be taken! The sum of money demanded was £0.00 (Yep, really £0.00), so my nan duly sent them a cheque for £0.00 and they cashed it (would have cost them to cash it as well, LOL). Some weeks later, my nan received 2 letters from BG, 1 said thankyou for prompt payment of £0.00, while the other appologised for the mix up and contained a goodwill cheque for £10.
  2. All I can say is that in recent years I have known 4 people put on suspension pending an investiagtion in to whatever, that could lead to (and did in 3 of the cases, 1 being my wife), disiplinary action and in all cases the employers said (written and verbal), that contact with anyone inside the company while on suspension is not allowed and if caught could be seen as gross misconduct in itself. I would say that it sounds like your in enough hot water already, regardless if the info above is right or wrong, it's not worth the risk and I wouldn't do it if I were you.
  3. That is strange, in my wifes case, there were 3 witness statements from the other side that were allowed despite the fact that the people in question did not attend (one of those being from the person that made the accusation against my wife in the 1st place, they admitted that they didn't even bother to try to contact her?).
  4. Hi SarEl, Thanx for the responce 8-) Sorry, should have clarified a little (it was early hours and I was trying to keep it as slim as possible), the Judge & JP's have had their meeting to decide (that was 3 weeks after my wifes day in Court). Shame about the witness statement though, would have been nice to hit them again, assuming my wife wins of course?
  5. Hi, I'm new here, only just found this forum (boy I could have used all your advice many moons ago, but hey ho 8)). My wife has recently taken her ex-employers to court for unfair dismissal, the Judge has said that she will post her answer & summary at a later date, asking our Solicitor how long this would take, he can only say somewhere between 2 weeks (past that now), and 4 months? Surely this can't be right?, since the decision has already been made, is there no way at all that we can find out even if we've won or not??, are we really at the mercy of when the Judge can be bothered to write up her reasons for her (and the JP's), desicion and post it? Also, seeing as how we caught out the other side, falsifying a witness statement that they then preceeded to put on us at the last minuet (10 minuets before my wife entered court), by way of attempting to change the date that the said statement was written (but forgetting to remove the original date prior to photocoping, then handing us and the Judge a copy... DOH.. They wanted to make it look like the statement had only just been written (and verbally stated that it had only just been written), when infact it was written some 2 weeks before)... Is there any Legal come back for this? eg: can we sue them for it? Cheers, Dave.
