  1. Well done Andrew. Just out of interest did they ever manage to produce a CCA?
  2. Thanks Scott. I think you are right and I will hear from Cabot in the near future. Hopefully you'll be able to point me in the direction of a 'template letter' to reply to them. Many thnaks. E/C
  3. Just checked my credit file and an account has today been changed from Citi Card to Cabot. The account in question was defaulted in 2005 and soon to drop-off my credit file. It had been passed to Capquest in 2006, but was returned by them to Citi as no CCA could be found. I have never heard from Citi since 2006. The alleged debt is just within the 5 year period for prescription and limitations. Today on my credit file I see it has now been 'taken-over' by Cabot. I haven't heard anything as yet from Cabot. Although my credit file shows my current address, the address in the Citi entry on my credit file shows an old address of mine from over 3 years ago, What should I be looking out for here? I know that Citi don't have a valid CCA for me, in respect of any debt they were chasing me for. I reckon that because the default is due to drop-off my credit file in a few months is the reason they have now appeared to have passed to Cabot. I am just a little bit concerned that Cabot may try and take me to court using my old address, from which I am long gone, and from which the redirection of mail is long expired. Are there any tricks I should be looking out for? Any advice would be gratefully received. Kind regards E/C
  4. Thank you for your replies which I appreciate. However, surely it's so wrong for them to process incorrect data about me? Is this something that the Information Commissioner could help me with? E/C
  5. What an idiot I've been. Lloyds TSB offered me a 75% discount on my credit card debit. As their letter stated I'd only have to pay 25% and my account would be closed with nothing more to pay. The only negative would be that my credit file would be marked 'partially settled' and not 'satisfied' But I went ahead with it anyway. However when I looked at my credit file, all it shows is the balance reduced by the 25% that I paid them, no mention of 'partially settled'. It just looks as though the account is still open + they haven't sent anything in writing to acknowledge this 'final payment' I've now written to then twice since May, and they just ignore me. What shall I do? Also on my credit file, I have an account with Barclaycard, with whom I pay a fixed (arranged) amount of £5 every month (I still get a normal Barclaycard statement). The entry on my credit file each month against Barclaycard is '0' which is good, and it has been '0' for a few years since I started this arrangement. However this month the '0' has suddenly changed to '6' and the narrative is '6 payments late' How can this be when all payments are paid on time each month by standing order. I have complained to Experian about this. They said they have contacted Barclaycard but so far (although it's only been 10 days) nothing has been done to correct this. I've had enough of this deceit from these companies. Is there anything I can do to fight back? Many thanks in advance. E/C
