  1. Hi All, Thought I'd update the post and hopefully get some more help and advice as I'm rapidly losing the will to live with Argos. Following on from my first post, I never received statements either through the post or via the online account option and when I tried to log in to it would never let me. I have written to Argos several times concerning this but have never had a reply. Instead they have issued a default, constantly ignored me and passed me to two external debt collectors to date. In an effort to get them to listen to me and in the hope of getting some sort of up to date account statement I sent them a CCA request. I sent this recorded and was received by them on the 31st July 2012. I received a copy of my application form and credit agreement back from them via Moorcroft on the 22nd November, almost 4 months later. The copy of the agreement is missing some of the terms and conditions because they have only included a copy of the front page. On the front of the credit agreement it states "your monthly statements will tell you when you must make payments, which will be at least 25 days after the statement date". I have written and pointed this out to Argos, told them I wasn't getting statements, Asked for the statements, asked for the status of the account, asked why they are ignoring me, asked why they keep passing it from DCA to DCA - Every single letter has been ignored. So a default, a rapidly increasing debt, incomplete CCA, dodgy default notice, no statements received, cant log in to account online, have no idea how much I owe or the amount of any charges etc. I know I could send a SAR, however I don't see why I should pay for the information I should of had in the first place, I feel like I have been totally screwed over. Would welcome any help or suggestions
  2. thanks for all the help it is appreciated
  3. Thank you, at this stage it is barclaycard that state that link will honour the arrangement for a further 6 months i have not heard from link yet. I have no issue paying link the money providing they have the right to ask for it. i will write to Barclaycard in an effort to convince them to retain my account, though i suspect it is already too late, and await contact from link. is it the general opinion that there is no point in sending a CCA request to link when they finaly do contact me?
  4. Is there anything i should put in the letter or quote in particular?
  5. okay thanks for the advice will complain to Barclaycard and ignore the DCA in the meantime
  6. Just for my own knowledge why would a CCA request be redundant? The Letter states, this letter is notice of the agreed assignment of the debt. this means we will close your account with barclaycard and you will receive contact within 30 days from Link Financial Outsourcing Ltd.
  7. Thanks for the replies, account was taken out early 2010, current balance outstanding is £3900. I don't think there will be too many penalty charges account was always up to date and when they agreed to reduce payments they froze interest and charges. Account still shows as Barclaycard on credit file. Letter I received states it is an agreed assignment of the debt. I wil send a letter of complaint to Barclaycard however should I also expect a notice of assignment from Link? and when they contact me do you recommend I send them a CCA? Thanks
  8. Hi all, Been making reduced payments to barclaycard over the last 7 months. Yesterday I received a letter from them stating they had sold and assigned the debt to link financial. They state they will honour my payment amount for the next 6 months but I should no longer pay barclaycard and await contact from link directly. I was hoping to avoid having to deal with another DCA but guess I now don't have a choice. So I'll await the usual endless telephone calls that I'll be subjected too. Question is should I just offer what I was paying barclaycard? I send a CCA request once they contact me?
  9. Thanks for the reply, think I'll send the failure to comply letter if I don't hear anything by the time the 12 working days expire. Once I do that what happens next ?
  10. Hi all So Argos continue to ignore me and FRS continue to hound me with endless calls, messages and emails. I'm more than willing to discuss with Argos but they don't seem to want too!! I followed the advice in an earlier post and sent FRS a CCA request which was received by them on the 31st July. To date I have had nothing back from them only letters stating I'm ignoring them which leads me to believe there either ignoring the CCA request or just don't care. So question is what should I do now if they don't send the CCA? Thanks
  11. Thought I would post an update, since Nationwide accepted my offer of reduced payments I have been making them in full and on time. I have not heard anything from them since, on Friday I received a letter from KPR Debt collection offering a discount on outstanding balance without prejudice, if i contact them within 7 days. They also say the account has been passed to them for collection though I dont have a notice of assignment or anything from Nationwide stating this is the case. Im not in a position to settle the account even with a discount, so do I just ignore them and continue to make my payments to Nationwide Credit Card as I have been doing?
  12. Hi All Just wondered if anyone could clarify this for me. I received a default from Argos which by the looks of it isn't correct as stated above. After the default notice was received I received a demand for the full balance from FRS. As they sent a default and FRS acting on behalf or argos demanded full payment does this mean Argos have terminated the agreement?
  13. Hi thanks for the reply, no date to pay by just says 14 days from date of this notice which was 8th June. I cant remember how it was posted i threw the envelope away.
  14. Just noticed the default notice Argos sent does not have a date on it to comply by, it just says 14 days from the date of this notice. Thats not right is it?
  15. Thanks for the responses, yes i have copies of the letters i sent to argos. I just cant believe argos have and continue to ignore me and would rather pass me to a debt collector. Its not that i dont want to pay but i havent had any statements to show howmuch to pay. And now i cant clear all the arrears. Should i write to argos again or the debt collector
  16. Hi all A drop in income has led me to enter payment arrangements with my creditors, in March a buy now pay later agreement reached its payment date. I didn't receive a statement from Argos and forgot the first payment was due, even though I didn't receive a statement I accept this was my fault. Argos phoned and phoned and eventually managed to speak with me demanding payment. I told them I wanted a statement first, this eventually arrived I then signed up to pay online at my Argos card. After signing up I was told I would receive an email when my statements were ready to view, this never happened and my next payment was also missed. They started to call me again, I tried to log in to view my statements and pay but it wouldn't let me stating my account was in arrears and I should call. I tried over a few days but couldn't get through. I then go on holiday and return to a default notice dated 8th June, I write to them explaining the situation etc asking for statements and an explanation of why I couldn't log in, or why they hadn't sent me postal statements or written to me. They ignored it. I then receive a notice of sum of arrears on the 27th June, I write again and still to date no reply. Today I receive a letter from financial recovery services ltd, demanding payment and saying they act on behalf of Argos. They call me this evening and threaten all sorts, I tell them I've written to Argos and to date have had no reply. I'm not disputing I owe the money but cant believe a genuine mistake has led to me now not being able to clear the arrears, I feel Argos should have at the very least written to me and sent statements. Welcome everyone's opinions on what I should do, thank you in advance.
  17. Hi thanks for the reply- yes its in writing so I assume its the final answer. My view is there cant be late payments if no payment is due!! Its just ridiculous
  18. Hi all We got a ticket, well a pretend one, from Napier at willen lake in 2008. From memory we were 5 mins late back to the car and they wanted £60. We ignored it for the worthless piece of paper it was, we received the usual threats blah blah blah. 2012 now and guess what....... We haven't heard from them since, just ignore the robbing parasites.
  19. Update- Resolved.......well mostly!!!!! Firstly thank you too Lee for taking this matter to hand and actually doing something..... Thank you Ok so letter received from Vodafone and following a review of my account they are going to remove any defaults from my credit report and I no longer owe them any money, as a goodwill gesture!! Great, I'm obvioulsy happy that common sense has prevailed. However they also state that late payment status codes 1,2 and 3 will remain on my credit file as these have been correctly recorded!! Oh come on.......play fair Vodafone. I don't owe you any money your removing any defaults but you still say I paid late. How can I pay late for a bill that didn't exist? Ridiculous. Not sure what to do next but suffice to say still not resolved entirely.
  20. Just to keep this post updated......... No news from Vodafone yet
  21. Thanks for the call tonight Lee, look forward to hearing from you shortly
