Your problems will continue when you return. I brought my car back from Holland, its MOT was 23 days out of date and tax was 1 month out of date. I was not allowed to drive the car out of the port of Hull confines and had to arrange for the car to be picked up on a truck and taken direct to an VOSA MOT tesing station @ Beverley. The DVLA then hit me with a penalty for not taxing the car on time, this was later dropped when I said sod it take me to court. All in all if you want to do something other than what the masses do the DVLA will only hinder and not help. Good luck on your adventure.
