  1. I know they are not allowed to disclose details, but they do, and once they have done that, yes, I can complain, but it doesnt undo the damage to my reputation does it.
  2. Unfortunately that will send it back to switchboard who will have to take a message - and I hear that they often disclose details in the message.
  3. I have defaulted on my PTP loan and somehow they have found my work telephone number and have tried to call me at work - I didnt answer as I dont wish to speak with them about it in work, but where would they have got the number from? Its not on the list of numbers I gave them. When I previously cancelled a DD they called my father at his house, where I have no lived for 10 years, where would they have got this number from? I find this really worrying. I dont want them leaving messages with my work colleagues if I am away from my desk. If I call them and tell them not to call me at work will they listen?
  4. Hi there, I have a very similar situation to alot of people here. I wish to cancel my DD for my PTP loan as I cannot afford to repay it. I am concerned though, as last time I cancelled my DD some strange person from PTP telephoned my father and asked to speak to me. I dont know where they got his number from - its not listed on the numbers I gave him, and I would never give them his number anyway. I wonder if they did some weird trace on me back to my dad via my national insurance number? Either way, it was very dodgy. I dont want to involve my parents in this or have them hassled by these people. What can I do to avoid this? I would like to send them an email telling them not to contact me or anyone else on telephone, do they listen to this? I really don't want my parents hassled and I just can't understand where they got their details from anyway - seems extremely dodgy as I havent lived with my folks for over 10 years!
