  1. sorry was supposed to say credit card..
  2. Hi, this sounds a bit fishy as I owned an agency for 12 years had enough experience with benefits and landlords. Do Rooftop not want their rent?? Are they waiting for you to get into rent arrears?
  3. Hi, not sure posting in right place. Just needed a general piece of advice. I have a virgin credit card nearly maxed but not quite.. and I have been paying the min payment for ages now which I know is not good but I'm self employed in retail so nightmare.. anyway when I originally got the card a couple of years ago it was 0% interest balance transfer thing from memory.. my problem is the interest is ridiculous. The min payment due 29/4 is £150.00 - £100 interest and £50.00 off loan. Last month min payment was £99.00. I haven't been using this card so had to call to find out why the jump... A completely condescending just vile creature spoke down to me and as if I was 5 about how many weeks in a year making different months longer therefore interest higher in some months etc...I lost my temper and told him even if I won the lottery I wouldn't pay card as its pure greed on their part. I didn't sign up for interest hikes.. Any ideas I'm probably in the wrong and next month it will be worse probably - bad luck on me.. p.s. the card is £5k at mo person on phone told me if he put me through to the advisors to discuss my options then any min payments I agree to do with them about ins and outgoings will come up on my credit history and will affect future credit for me - he was very smug about it think thats when I lost my temper. I've never missed a payment either.
  4. Hi sorry taken so long to post. I have recd a letter (this is after I had to contact the ombudsman) - they are settling my complaint and have stated to put me back in the same position had the PPI not been sold and amend existing loan which I have asked them to do for months by taking insurance off. They will use a re-dress function to work out the calculation of what is due for me - refund payments made to PPI to date plus 8%. If I'm not happy with this I have to contact Ombudsman again. If the Ombudsman is not happy with above refund they shall let me know but as far it stands presently this is the offer. No idea what figure this will be as it will not be worked out for a few weeks. I had to contact the Ombudsman as I kept getting fobbed off so my suggestion to anyone in this position is have everything ready to contact Ombudsman as otherwise you will be left waiting. Does the above make any sense to anyone? Thankyou for reading x
  5. Thank for info, just called Sainsburys - now Halifax apparently - they did not receive my Recorded delivery letter. (suspicious) However, a man from customer care called me straight back and said he will deal with the complaint now as - I didn't get a choice, no opt out box, no info on paperwork re: insurance and what it covers in full, wasn't asked if I held insurance elsewhere at time - he also stated in his words that the loan paperwork doesn't really tell you much. I should hear back within 2 wks with a letter and take it from there. I must stress he was very nice and helpful. There is something I am puzzled about which I didn't mention to him. If the payments were supposed to be split between insurance/loan for 86 months as stated on paperwork then how come I've actually paid nearly all the insurance and still got ages of the loan to go? The paperwork is not right maybe? Thankyou anyway for help x
  6. Hi so sorry can't scan the paperwork - scanner driver being naughty and not working. Sainsburys told me on phone that £5k insurance was already paid so very confused. Just so anyone can see the figures here they are: Fixed sum loan agreement Amount of credit: (cash loan) 10,687.01 Amount of credit: (insurance loan) £5,045.76 Total £15,732.77 Duration 86 months Total amount you pay cash loan £13,565.32 Total insurance loan £6,413.40 Total £19.998.72 We will divide your monthly payments between the cash loan and the insurance loan in the same proportion as they bear to the total loan. Apr Cash loan 6.9% Apr Insurance Loan 6.9% Sorry to go on its so bugging the life out of me today really want to call them and get my money back this instant but have to got wait for a reply to my first letter which was pretty basic but got to the point. Hope any of the above makes sense to someone out there.... thankyou for reading this its just someone elses problem and not any of yours so thankyou x
  7. Oh thankyou so much for replying so stressed. The loan agreement they sent through as a copy I requested is a bad p/copy but will try and scan. I can only assume that they said I had no choice for insurance as I know I would not have taken it out - I have never ever took insurance on my credit cards or previous finished loans so why would I on this? However there isn't any info about the insurance on this paperwork just the figures. No info but I do know that the actually insurers is a company I have never heard of called St.Andrews that Sainsburys must use?! Thankyou will continue this saga as I'm seething...x
  8. Hi sorry may be the wrong category can't figure my way around. Re: I took a loan in 2007 it was a top up - from memory delivered by courier sainsburys. Been paying it, realised last week - over £5000 is insurance that I would never have agreed to over phone. Nothing was explained no opt out box on original paperwork, can't remember if they made me take it as I believe it was a phonecall made - got the paperwork in front of me and I can see I signed the paperwork! What an idiot I am, £5,045 on an insurance loan total amount I pay for the insurance loan £6,413.40 - paperwork so confusing...Sent a letter to Sainsburys H/O last week a template one from money matters - but now I'm thinking I'm in the wrong as I signed the paperwork. I want to cancel the PPI now - however I think I've already paid most of that insurance since 2007 - please help!
