  1. I see that the BBC are running a news item about the poor state of the distance learning industry. No mention of Advent/Access to Trade directly, but its good to see some focus on it.
  2. Exactly the speil i was given. That was a major part of my discussions with Advent. The fact that they had contacts with numerous employers all over the UK and i would be in a new job within months. Well we have written evidence that they were misleading prospective students with false promises.
  3. My contract clearly states three years for completion. I also have a letter signed by Ashley Jones detailing my job requirements: 1. Employer type 2. Commuting distance 3. Starting job role 4. Salary requirement 5. Target salary within 2 years
  4. Yep. Received my letter this morning. I'm trying to compose my reply to BPF now......
  5. Thanks Savarok. Right now the choice is between Network + and the 70-680 exams. As far as i can see, Microsoft haven't released the training material for the 70-682? I think with Advent going down i've become more determined to pass these exams and get a decent job!

  8. Quite, Bluedo. Perhaps they could give us their own figures that show what percentage of Computeach students actually get £33k as a starting wage! I bet its more like £15k - £20k!
  9. When i spoke to Computeach earlier, they told me that they would be writing to every student regarding their own situation. This will take some considerable time. They sounded overwhelmed by the current situation. In the meantime all loan accounts should remain frozen as we are still not getting the service we paid for.
  10. Hi, I have just been in touch with Computeach regarding the recent letter from Barclays. My course with Advent started in June 2009 and was due to run until June 2012. The first person i spoke to at Computeach suggested that i might have to pay more to complete the course ( completely unacceptable ). However the second person i spoke suggested that they would honour the original contract. What i did ascertain from the conversation is that they are inundated with calls and it is going to take quite some time until Computeach write to us all individually. The route i am pursuing is the contract is frustrated due to the break of over eight weeks. I think we will be well into April before any further detail is known.
