  1. This is exactly what I'm hoping for. Poor credit rating will destroy us all, disable us from geting a stupid loan, a car on finance and a mortgage, so we and our families could live our lives normally!
  2. Hi all. On the adventstudents website I read: "(...) if you were a former student who paid in full just before the collapse of Advent and had no course end date on your Advent enrolment form (the one you signed with the rep - green/blue copy for most people) you may well, based upon recent experience, get at least a 60% refund from the FOS". Well, I haven't paid the loan back in full before Advent's collapse, but there's also no end date on my enrolment form, nor on any other paper work I've been receiving from either Advent, Claysdale or Barclays. Is anyone in a similar situation?
  3. Just popped into BBC Watchdog website. Thought it'd b a good idea to send them an email regarding this whole crap. Fuzz - has anyone tried cotacting them? It's a good story, everyone's has got it's own epxeriences dealing with it and it would draw public's attention. Also, Barclay's wouldn't be happy with such a "publicity" They are stealing the money from us and then build very nice offices and branches for it. 10pack knows what I mean... (i.e NEW CityCentre Branch??)
  4. Hi all. I've noticed my little question casued a little disagreement. I still haven't decided what I'm going to do, mostly because of very little knowledge of what may or would happen if I stopped paying. That's why I tried to find some answers. I keep visiting this forum on a daily basis. Just one more thing for Feedme: Why won't you post the whole story of how you've managed to get the refund from BFP? C'mon man... We're not naive...
  5. I know I gotta do my own thing, but credit rating is what I'm on about. I really don't want to put myself into some s**t. As I said, paying for the service which I'm not getting anyway isn't what I want to be doing, I'm looking for the advice and for other members to share their experiences, so I know what to expect when I stop paying. As we all now, CAB's not much of a help and as many of you I can't afford a lawyer. I'm sure that'd explain it all to you Dave
  6. Or they just are not in a hurry. How is that going to affect your crdit rating?
  7. What was (or still is) the outcome of you deciding not to make any further payments to BFP?
  8. That is exactly what happened to me, with the expemption, that it was only during that very telephone conversation with CT rep, when I got to know that there was a 2-year contract. Unfortunatelly, because it has already expired, I wasn't entitled to get alternative training with CT. I could, however, pay in additional 1,700 and do my studies with CT. So where's my money gone, and what am I actually repaying now? Barclay's boss' bonuses?
  9. Fuzz, some months ago you asked for any proof of time-frame complete the study, provided to any of us by Advent reps. What's the outcome of that? What if I have nothing but remember exactly rep saying, that there's no pressure and that I can study at my own pace, wether it'd take 2, 3 or 4 years it doesn't matter. Nothing was mentioned about any contract during my inteview with rep. It's existence was a big news to me when Advent went bust.
  10. Hi everyone It is my first post, but I've ben following the discussion on this forum since Feb2010. Big thanks to all of you who are contributing to this forum with all their experiences. Just one question. Has anyone of you guys stopped making payments to BFP? I kept repaying, (as advised by CAB) but soon went under financial struggle and turned to CCCS for help. They've sorted me out with the deal with BFP, decreasing montlhy repayment from 204 to 99 (untill all paid back). I got to a point though, where I really have enough of this charity goin on. Does anyone have any idea what is more likely to happen if I stopped re-paying (considering the circumstances)? Adrian
