  1. Hi all, I was in this Forum about 5-6 months ago and I was desparate to figure out what is the best course of actions and what is not. I didn't waste my time and I joined with new IT Training established since 1960s in Midland which I found they were extremely helpful and excellent training provider. I have already passed two exams and I am back in the track with no fear, stress or dolldrums. I blame both Advent and Barclays Partner Finance in getting thousand of students in the mess like most of you and their case handling is the worst in the history of such a professional business entprenuers. Also I have started paying gradually my loan and back in track but Customer Communication Manger is still sending me harrassing letter in missing payment ie. ''This Arrears Notice is given in compliance with the Consumer Credit Act 1974 because you are behind with your repayments''. I rang BPF and asked them why they are threatening me then they started saying ''Sorry for any inconvenience and it was a mistake''. Some people in some companies are crooks and they are stupid as far as it could go. I suggest better NOT TO WASTE TIME AND CRACK ON WITH WHAT YOU HAVE HOPED FOR OR AT LEAST LEAVE IT BEHIND IF YOU CAN. Thanks.
  2. Hi all, I have found good news in BBC for those who wish to continue IT training. Hope you like it. Terms agreed over Hagley training firms Administrators have agreed terms with companies to buy the interests of two Worcestershire firms which provided training to about 11,000 students. Advent Computer Training and plumber and electrician training firm Access 2 Careers, in Hagley, employed about 250. Administrators PKF in Birmingham said it had agreed sales of the businesses subject to contract with two firms. It is anticipated many students caught up in the companies' collapse were set to see their futures secured, it added. 'Working hard' Advent Computer Training, established in 2002, provided IT training to more than 8,000 students, while Access 2 Careers, formed in 2004, offered plumber and electrician training for about 3,000. One of the unnamed training companies which had stepped in specialised in IT and the other concentrated on trade services including plumbing, PKF said. PKF partner Ian Gould said: "We have agreed sales of the businesses subject to contract, with two separate training organisations and also with one of the major funders involved. "This covers the interests of a considerable number of the students affected who should be able to continue their studies soon. "We hope to move to formal contract over the next few days. "We hope that more funders will follow suit in relation to those other students involved and we will be working hard to conclude matters so that the majority, if not all, are back in training as soon as possible. Thanks guys and gals.
  3. I think some of you might be a Advent's agents but I don't care who you are. Some time I question my self that should I be an extremist, shall I share your information or not and most of the time I am thinking, how people get rich, how bankers make money and who have the most money in the banks or do we not have place to live on this earth, shall we not enjoy same as them so if not what are the factors preventing us to do so...etc. For rich people, 5k-10k could be nothing but for some of us £5950.00 is a lifetime committment unless we succeed in our careers. If someone can wave this with charity or donation I honestly want to refrain from these sort of businesses and training organisations. I was more happy and stress free before than now. I now realised that thousands and thousand people are cheated and conned by these swindlers so called Advent, Access2.. haha same owner, same greedy and dump people. Do they have their family, does money means everything to them ? How about putting their feet in our shoes ?
  4. Hi, I have just heard in breaking news at 8 AM today that Barclays have made pre-tax profit of 11.6 billion (profit rose by 92%) and Bank empolyees are sharing 2.7 billion bonuses amongst them. Thats the way it is.. there we go !!!
  5. OH thanks 4 da info. IS IT ANOTHER ADVENT COMPUTER TRAINING OR IF NOT SIMILAR???? OVER CHARGED, MISSOLD..ETC!!!!
  6. I know you are gonna hate to hear this but in legal term, there is a very slim chance to get this problem with Advent to overcome quickly. I have been to CAB, local law firms and numerious people who know about insolvency cases to seek advice and answers are same as ''Insolvency is a financial state in which a company can no longer pay its bills and other obligations on time. Insolvency usually occurs whenever liabilities, or debts, exceed assets and cash flow''. Insolvency rules, act and law may seem difficult to understand for a layman. Hence, seeking help from professionals can help a great deal. Insolvency Law provides a clear, readable and comprehensive account of the principles of insolvency law in relation to both corporate, personal debtors and creditors.
  7. Thank you all for your useful info and guidance including owner of this brilliant site. I learnt over 20 years ago about velocity, frequency so lamda, MHz, GHz including power management i.e. power loss in dbs, electricity so the Ohms law, SATCOM including INMARSAT to name but a few and I all I wanted was to re-vitalisations of my career by gaining some qualification in the IT world. My contract was particularly highlighted in CPP, MCAS, MCSA, MCSE and Network Security Specialist in total costing me of £5950.00 before any interest but Advent collapsed before my first hurdle so I am totally devastated as some of you young ones. I know now that this is the fact of life and I have to brace it without letting my peers know coz I chose to take this path although I didn’t have any concern to worry about my present job. I hope it is to turn something good after bad starting but you never know what is in the corner. Thanks.
  8. Thanks Matt28LFC for correction and it is much appreciated. As you can imazine that I was all over. To be honest, I am having some difficulties in studying at the moment because of Advent's false education and mis-sold courses.
  9. These courses are over charged by Advent and in my opinion these are definately not value for money. Barclays Partner Finance are quite rightly doing favour for most of us. Yeah, I see IT Training firms like Advent are money suckers. This is my experience with them and you do not have to agree with me just because I am expressing my views. Thanks.
  10. I always had respect and positive thoughts for IT people and IT Industry but now I am becoming to realise the truth behind them... are they crooks if not all, obviously some of them are. I think there is no god and there is no rules for them so whatever they do they seem to be in win win situation. Cruel money and cruel-merciless Information Technology.
  11. Hi all, It looks like a whole [problem]. I think people in Barclays Finance Partner must have known well in advance this was going to happen but they kept making agreement with new students. For instance, me/myself. I signed agreement with Barclays in end of Oct 09 but literally after 3 months I am with these crap money suckers. IT IS A FIXED [problem].
  12. Hi all, I have been checking this thread whenever I can as I am in the same boat as you are (most of you I guess). I found it very informative and some useful stuffs as well. If I may ask to students, please keep posting as our days are not over yet. I think we are paying for the service that is by no means up to any acceptable standard which seems like a whole [problem] saga. Thanks.
  13. Hi all, I am 48 years old with 5 children from south of England who has fallen in this sh..hole while trying to conquer IT world by becoming MCP, MCDST, MCSA, MCSE and CCNA but now I am in the mess (or at least for time being) as some of you fellas ? Advent IT sales man and Barclays Partner Finance arranged capital of 5950 pound student loan for me within 2 days (of course 1 day interview and next day loan agreement) which I signed in Oct 09 and paying DD from Nov 09 (3 instalments so far). From their end, all I have got so far are 2 books (Introduction to Comp and IT & CompTIA A+Essentials). I don't even know who my tutor or training adviser is and I forgot about 24 hours support which I believe is that didn't even exist. I spoke to BFP in Glasgow requesting them to refund my money or cancel loan agreement (that will be a best option and appropriate for all of Advent students in my opinion) but they advised me that they are looking for alternative training company in order for us to complete our courses. God knows how long it is going to take Barclays to arrange this. No official letter from neither of them except one email from Advent saying that they can not run any more training. Well, I am a main breadwinner in my family but if something happens like this whan can I do. ''This is a mad world'
