  1. I just have to say that this is a farce! When I originally researched IT distance learning I considered CT but chose not to use them because it didnt suit me and there was alot of negative press surrounding them. I will not now have a gun held to my head and be told that i have to take my training with them. I chose Advent and they are now no longer trading so i want a refund as i have not received what i paid for. Is that not common sense?? This is getting so silly.
  2. Keep thinking how we can get a case for mis-selling that we can prove. any suggestions welcome When recently reclaiming mis-sold payment protection the main reason given was that I had been mislead into thinking that the loan stood a better chance of being accepted if I took the payment protection. Is it possible to claim that you were mislead by the Advent sales person suggesting that there were limited spaces available and the place may be offered to another person if it was not accepted within the timescale they gave? I`m not sure on this but may be worth running by a solicitor if you have one?
  3. Does anyone that has sought professional advise on this have an example letter that we could send to BPF? It would be good if we are all singing from the same hymn sheet.
  4. Not saying it would have been easy but maybe you should have considered the volunteer work? even a few weeks would have given you experience and looked great on a CV. I think it depends how much you want to put in or if you just want it on a plate. Anyway this isnt the forum for this discussion. best of luck to you though mate.
  5. Hey all. I am in the BPF situation. I paid off my loan before the repayments started but have recently moved house and lost my paperwork so a contact number would be good if anyone has one cheers... Also I would like to add that Advent had been pretty good with me. I had taken a couple of exams and i am now working in the IT industry after being made redundant in may 2008. I found the course materials good enough to get me through exams and the tutors on the workshop days were great. Sorry but wanted to balance things up a bit as i had quite a positive experience with the company. I agree that we should not except alternative training from barclays as it was not what we signed for in the contract. I will be taking my BFC contract (when i receive a new copy!) to my friend who is a solicitor and will let you all know what he thinks about our chances of a refund instead of alternative training are. On a positive note.... the age of social networking sites and consumer forums will stand us all in much better stead in this situation!
