  1. That is an very relevant point. Rumours abound connecting Advent students to a possible provider who only does Server 2003 qualifications. We have been offering Server 2008 for some time, and we now include the new Windows 7 qualifications as well. This is one of the reasons we issued the press release - as we are not part of the negotiating process we didn't want to be associated with no choice other than older qualifications, as well as possibly poor support.
  2. NITLC Offer New Deal to Ex Advent IT Computer Training Students The National IT Learning Centre, who offered free workshops to Ex Advent IT students which were a great success, have now offered further help for those who want to continue their training with a new provider of their choice. Managing Director Charles Oskwarek stated: ‘NITLC are not involved in current discussions with the Administrators PKF (UK) in relation to the sale or negotiations to buy Advent Training or Access Training, or provide training for Advent students despite the positive feedback NITLC have received from Advent Students. However, NITLC have received countless calls from Ex Advent Students asking for our help as still nothing has been concluded and students do not appear to know what is happening. Many Advent Students may, subject to how they funded their course, be free to choose a provider of their choice to complete their IT Training once they have fully researched and tested their rights. NITLC have and continue to make it clear that they are not in a position to offer advice on specific loan agreements students have entered into, or their rights, however due to the demand they have received NITLC have decided to offer the following for those who wish and are in a position now or in the future to take up new alternative training options and exercise their freedom of choice.’ Exclusive Offer To Ex Advent IT Students Ø Significantly reduced course costs exclusive to EX Advent Students subject to the financial commitment they have already made and level of progress in their training to date. Ø The latest 2008 Microsoft qualifications as most other training providers are still only offering Server 2003 qualifications. Ø Tailored courses and payment terms on a one to one basis. Ø Full access to fully certified Tutors and on most courses hands-on workshops. Ø Access to Student Net and the most in depth-practice exams in the world Ø Full access to our careers department to help students into an IT career. Important! NITLC are unable on this occasion to offer these high quality course options (with superior support inclusive of exam costs, workshops and all the benefits) free of charge; costs albeit significantly and exclusively lower will need to be met by the students but NITLC do promise the following: NITLC Promise 1. This is a genuine offer with new options specially created for Ex Advent Students at lower costs for their IT Career courses based on demand we have already received. 2. No sales representative or sales presentation will be involved; all interested students will be dealt with by the senior management team at NITLC’s Head office on an open and honest basis. 3. Interested students can visit NITLC Head Office to meet the Tutors and Directors, and examine training and exam facilities and for one to one consultation, once students are in a position to consider their new training options. What’s Next? Ø Do your research: Check out the IT Training Checklist on this link IT Training Courses from the National IT Learning Centre Ø Contact David Greenwood, NITLC’s Student Services Manager on 01636 612226 to discuss your training situation and for a one to one free consultation if appropriate, or e-mail [email protected]. Finally, we believe that our Courses and Student Support are superior to that of any other similar provider having been in training for almost 20 years, in fact in most cases ours are the only fully up to date courses. For many Ex Advent Students who are determined to achieve their training and career goals we are also confident that we can not only offer similar terms that they received in the past but better terms overall in most, if not all, cases.

  4. The positive feedback we’ve received from Advent students relates primarily to the free workshop and advice offer. We have made the post above because, in the interests of transparency, we feel people should be kept informed that we have requested an opportunity with Barclay’s to discuss how we may be able to help in the longer term.
  5. Hi MARTIN3030, As we mention in the heading of our posting, the present situation is that we have contacted Barclays and offered to discuss providing training for Advent students because how we deliver our courses is very similar. We have already helped many Advent students who did not know what to do next with their studies. As we have already provided free advice and places on workshops free of charge and received extremely positive feedback from Advent Students then we felt this was a natural next step. We are waiting to hear from Barclays. Bluedo, We made the offer of free A+ workshops to Advent students through various forums (including this one), social networking sites, and national and local press. Further details of the offer can be found on website www.nitlc.com/advent Regards, NITLC
  6. The National IT Learning Centre has extended their support to help Advent Students by contacting Barclays Bank to discuss providing alternative training in the longer term. The National IT Learning Centre recently offered Students free support and exam preparation for those studying the CompTIA A+ and had been left in the lurch by the closure of Advent IT. Charles Oskwarek, NITLC’s Managing Director, stated, “Our offer to Advent students has been extremely well received, and we have filled classroom training sessions for them at no charge. Having spoken with many of Advent students it is clear that we could help them further as our course delivery is based on a similar model to that of Advent’s. We would be happy to look at each case because in our opinion we have found that a significant amount of Advent students had elements of courses that may not really relevant to their overall objectives. We have been training for almost 20 years and we were the first IT Training Provider to offer Microsoft IT qualifications via distance learning. We have offices in the Midlands and London, and already support distance learning courses on a national scale; however, we would consider opening additional offices to meet the needs and demands of Advent students if feasible”. Barclays Bank has been widely quoted in the press as looking to source training or better training for Advent Students. As reported by the BBC News website, Andrew Bond, a spokesman for Barclays said, “We recognise how important this training is for people and have formed a dedicated team to help any students find equivalent or better training at no extra cost to them so they can fulfil their aims". NITLC feel that they are in a strong position to be part of that and look forward to hearing from Barclays.
