you must be one of the lucky ones stu because i am an mcdst and only two exams off mcsa and cant even get an interview but none of us are calling the tutors just the way advent has behaved and no they havent been good if your honest with yourself the two day sessions were good to meet other techies and the tutors but what we learned was nothing new to what i learned in the books and off other material used Also to be honest the input from advent was very poor to advertise that they had an employment agency section was false it was the tutors who by the way were also the mentors during their breaks they were answering the emails etc and also they werer the employment agancy section in two years i had one phone call about a possible job and what was that a bloody charity wanted there servers servicing and kept in order and ensuring all was generaly working fine on their workstations but heres the good part no pay the cheeky buggers wanted me to do all this for twenty hours aweek for no pay and when i said and what do i do for my bills and feeding my family he said they really want someone who is unemployed to do the job because they can get it for free then so i told them this is all you can come up with in two years am sorry thats not good enough i live 15 mins from sheffield and 30 mins from york and leeds three big i t areas and not one potential job some employment agency and thats because it didnt really exist so just one of the things i and many people are ****ed off with advent for

no offence conif but you sound very naive of course fraud has been committed even after they announced that they have gone into insolvancy they were still trying to get people to pay for courses knowning they had folded they even had poor students in kidderminster on 2 day sessions who had to wait till the next day as they turned up when they folded the company as they sat in the classrooms where is all the 35 millions that they were bragging about and yes they will be starting another business with a little investigation you will see that these crooks have done this before they even had time to empty there offices of all items at the mews including all the office equipment books and computers too in a short space of time this was planned from before christmas as for the directors saying you will get your money back dont hold your breath because according to the company house advent has not ceased trading so whats going on sorry to be angry but when you see the Dickhead driving a brand new range rover sports with a cocky look on is face thought of a good lynching comes to mind

wizard i wasnt having a go at the tutors pete,mark,kam,tim were all great guys and i liked them but in the context of the learning we only went over what we learned in the books ourselfs just read the book that you get on the two day sessions and you will find that its mostly taken out of the microsoft books with the odd tweak of words my critisism is that delay tactics were used for exams trying to slow down i was ready for my 270 after 3months and they kept trying to delay with are you sure and would you like to come and a have a one to one session in the end i went down had the one to one but demanded my exam that day to which i was booked in took the exam and blew it out of the water because i knew my subject and was ready and to be honest it was quite an easy exam to take now i am going to take 290 in about 6 weeks because i have been studying since september for this and tried to get mock with then but they kept fobbin me off so now no more silly time wasting mocks and can crack on with real thing and then on to the next one

you can get your money back from the bank iusing indemnity i told them whats happend and they did it immedeatly and cancelled my direct debit too because the company doesnt trade anymore so they cant legaly claim any monies also that company that collects the monies is based in cheshire isnt that funny considering that the director lives somewhere in manchester apparently but dont stop your studying do it your self because apart from the two days which spent at advent which to be honest didnt learn much there they just give you a book which with info taken out of the microsoft book anyway you learn more yourself i took the 70-270 with very little input from advent and scored 996 so i am going to crack on because thats what i intended to do when i was with advent complete the course i mean using technet Testout CBT nuggets and the microsoft books bought from amazon they wont stop me and i will over come because i discovered through other students who did get to talk to the staff admitted that advent didnt want you to complete the course because you still had to pay if you quite and thats where they were making there money and with the stupid mock exams that quite often had no relevance to the exam you were taking so nmow instead of the end of next year i will be an mcse this year then on to cisco but never with a training company again because enough techies out there on the net to help if you get stuck

i agree i am with anglo and i told my bank what has happened and they stopped the direct debit but they wont deter me i am carrying on with my studies i use TEST OUT and CBT NUGGETS and the microsoft books and they arnt out of date because i spoke to microsoft and said they are up to date and to complete it my self get msce then take the update exams which i will f**k advent i got 996 on the 270 on my own back so dont get DOWN every body you know the old saying dont get mad get even and when i find out where they live the directors that is i will post ther ADDRESS and we will inundate them with complaints and maybe a visit from the plod because they look as though they have been committing fraud on a grand scale
