Guys, i am using Glasgow address since my last letter from BPF was addressed from Glasgow, so i cant see any reason to answer to another BPF address. However my last letter is still "progressed through mail network"....? Its almost 3 weeks, weird, anybody have similiar issue? It was answer for Default Notice, and now im sending account in dispute letter to the same address... Look: Item AG********* was posted at **********on 13/04/10 and is being progressed through our network for delivery. Are we supposed to track any address changes of business, since we have no official information? So if letter comes back undelivered, it counts as delivered or ? What you think guys?

Advent/Barclays Partner Finance/Hitachi + Payment demands.
adinmatty replied to MARTIN3030's topic in Students
Hi, I am another one who received Arrears Notice from Barclays. I started my Advent course just before Christmass 09' and have first BPF payment set on early Feb which i moved max forward (28/02) in Jan (before Advent collapse announcement). My account is frozen since 5th of Feb, what BPF confirmed in written. So I demanded in 2 letters to BPF to cancel my agreement / refund anything they are about to charge me (havent payed anything in fact). And few days ago I received Arrears Notice: Account Balance 6886,60 (its full loan with interest) and arrears requiring this notice: 228,72 (it seems like 2 payments). When I read further it states: "... total amount in arrears (inluding "Arrears requiring this notice") is 114,36". So its not very consistent, however I am not familiar with such notices (first in my life in fact). There is something like this as well: "This is not a demand for immediate payment if we have already reached a repayment arrangement with you". I am not sure if account freezing is "repayment arrangement"? I guess not. So I am concerned about my credit rating here. Thanks for any help CAG team Adam -
How to cancel PPI and dont pay anymore?
adinmatty replied to adinmatty's topic in Payment Protection Insurance (PPI)
Well the problem is they lowering it only a bit. Total cost of PPI was/is about 750 pounds, its than 25 pounds a month (30 instalments). On my agreement it says "you pay us 119 where 94 is for cash loan and 25 for ppi loan". And they told me today that there is only about 150 left on my PPI account to pay, therefore they can lower my monthly instalments only by 150/18 (left to pay) = 8 pounds. So it seems that in 12 months I payed 600 quid for PPI (50 a month) where agreement says about 25 x 12 = 300. Thats the problem. Can they handle those instalments in different way from agreement? If its right, they can tell me after 3 months that my first 3 payments went straight for insurance for example?... I feel they just trying to mess it to take as much as possible money from me. -
Hi, In December 2008 I took cash loan from Halifax. I agreed to take payment protection insurance volountarily. This month i decided to cancel that policy because do not need it anymore. I sent letter (recorded delivery) asking to cancel it. Week later I made phonecall to confirm its done. And here goes surprise. Its done yes, but they offer to refund (lower my monhly instalment) amount which is about 20% of policy value agreed on loan agreement. And I am on 12 instalment and 18 more to go. Weird? On agreement it says: "You will be charged monthly for X, where Y is for your cash loand and Z is for your insrance loan". Over the phone i received information that they can not refund strictly 18/30 of starting amount because they took more on start, due to higher risk, and its in Terms and Conds. I checked, and yes there is something like there. But. When I signed my loan agreement I didnt see Terms for Payment Protection, and secondly I feel that what is in Agreement is more important than Terms which i dont sign? Please any of you have idea how to get rid of this useless stuff and just lower my instalment exactly like Agreement says?

Hi guys, I am on pretty same position as JuiceyBuns at the moment. Have frozen account confirmed in writing, and posted complaint based on 75 section, and mentioned time of essence as well (i made it 7 days, its too short i know, but wanted to put some pressure). Sent letter to Advent as well (both got both copies). Im in that situation that I havent payed any instalments yet, but still asked for refund (who knows in meantime they can charge me somehting still through DD) and cancel my agreement. They should receive my letters today (Tue, 09th). Will update you guys on anything new. And second thing about moving on. Im not saying we should spend a lot of money along with possibility of paying PBF as well. However buying book on ebey for 20 as I did and moving on is rather refreshing for me. Even if I HAVE to go with new provider I dont lost few weeks time watching tv instead of making some progress But of course all depends on particular circumstances, im rather in rush...

Shep66: Finally somebody with positive thinking Well regardless money, bankruptcy, crap banking etc, we NEED to move on. So I do that for example, just passed my 220-601, on way to 220-602 than bridge test to 2009 edition. Than Microsoft way... So yes, we could use new thread help each other find books, materials to study and pass our exams. At the end of the day it would be us who win.

Hey guys, Another one in same situation here. Just had liitle "battle" over the phone with BPF to put my account on hold. I hit the wall at start and after 5 mins arguing asked to switch me to supervisor. Than 20 secs and im done, account on hold, confirmation letter on way to me. So yes, you need to be pushy... Good luck with that.
